I think it is.
It seems like this is the newest trend. (The I / Me generation I suppose)
1. If the bride sent you an invitation, surely she knows your address
2. How hard is it to sent a few dozen cards, especially when each card represents an expensive gift
3. Three weeks and still no "Thank You Card", sent. Hmmm....
Makes me want to barely give a wedding gift, if any.

Tacky. My mom and Matron wanted me to let them have the guests address their own envelopes at my shower last month and I completely refused and purposefully left the envelopes at home.

This is acceptable for a baby shower because everyone understands how busy mothers are with new babies, but for a wedding shower? That would definately be on the tacky side. On the plus side, at least the return addresses would be hand-written and not an Avery label done with the home printer! LOL

I'd place my vote in the "tacky" column too. However, I've gotten thank you notes MONTHS after the wedding, even for shower gifts. Miss Manners would not be pleased, but there you have it.

If I were asked to fill out the card, I'd probably take the card with me and make the bride to be fret over losing the card.
Yeah, I know. That makes me no better. I'd reconsider the rsvp to the wedding ,too.

I am getting married in a few weeks, so I am going through all of this right now. In fact, my fiance has another bridal shower this weekend and I think this is super TACKY - she would never never do this.

yeppers-sorry. I hope u will provide stamps. put out a guest book with an address spot.. try that. or get a new address book for when you are married and ask them to write their names in so you can keep in touch. maybe thats tacky too? clever, but tacky?? but its really not that hard to address your own envelopes and get their addys on your own. ask their address when you call to invite them.. its ok.
