i was watching a movie today and amidst all the other commercials i saw the "bridezilla" who met her mother on her wedding day with the wonderful words:
"you can't go to anybody's wedding dressed like that, especially not your daughter's" or something to that effect. apparently, it was not summer and she did not approve of flowers on her mother's dress. she then proceeded to call home and ask her father "why don't you check mom before she leaves the house?"
i have to say i don't know how i would have handled it. i probably would have just walked away and refused to talk to her until after the ceremony and reception (which i would not have attended) were over.
so i'm curious... if this was your daughter treating you/your wife like this, how would you have handled it?

I have graduated from high school and he has just left for 12wks of marine boot camp training. We have been through good, bad, happy and sad, pain, tears, and sweat in the 4 yrs we've been together. But neither one of us could have grown to be what we are today without each other. He feels he needs to step up and settle down now he knows he can provide for a family physically, mentally, and fiancally. When he comes home from boot camp he wants to marry me so I can live one base with him and go to college together. We have beaten statics neither one of us smoke, drink, have a dieaseor children are both ready to committ to one another despite the. I come from a family of well respected men and wo'men who will say that it's too son for such a big step. No one in his family things there is a reason for us not to take this step. Him and I both believe that we have to live for ourselves; not to please everyone surrounding us wether they have positive or negative feedback. What do think???

In an email exchange with a friend, she suggested:

"At the García caves! (those are some caves just outside Monterrey, Mexico). There is a "room" with 2 skylights on top where the light enters, outside is day but inside is night and the skylights would simulate the moonshine!"

Does that sound romantic and memorable, or does it have the potencial for a flop? Would you like it or not?

My ex-boyfrend and his fiancee, a woman I dated and was best friends with for two years, is getting married this August. The break-up with the man was about as horrible as any break-up ever could be. For about a year before the break-up, the three of us were a committed manage a trois, and we expected to live together in the future. The woman and I never really broke up, we still see each other every once in a while, but the romance is pretty much gone. We're still friends, though I tend to avoid her fiancee because he didn't take the break-up very well.

They sent me a wedding invitation this morning. I don't know what to think of it- if they sent me an invitation, does that mean they want me to go, or they want to be polite and fully expect me not to go? Do I look rude if I don't go? I don't know if I want to go, though most of my friends will be there, and I'd like to give the couple a gift and let them know I'm happy for them. I just don't know what the polite thing to do is.
