I would like to do more than a gift certificate. At the same time, I do not want to get anything that is engraved with their names and the date, because this is a third marriage for both of them.

My future husband does the best that he can. He lives and works in London where it's crazy expensive. Once his visa goes thru, it'll 3mos til the work permit is issued, so in that time, he won't be able to work. Any money he puts away now is going to be used to pay his student loan payment while he's over here and out of work(cuz i can't afford it). We're even going without seeing each other to save money. So any wedding i have, will be paid for solely by me. That doesnt' seem very special to me...should i bother?

She's throwing me a 'surprise' bridal shower type thing this saturday. My friends and I live in NY.. she's in PA and having it there. She told all my friends who are willing to take the drive and have a way to get there that they cannot give me any sort of 'dirty' gift like undergarments for the honeymoon.. or basically anything that can't be opened in a church with my family there.. which is now my bridal party.. in a church with my father and elementary aged nephews there...

The thing I'm really upset about.. I had a specific photo I was using in my invitations.. and I showed it to her and told her that. She asked to make a copy cause she really liked it so I had no problem with that. She then took it and sent it out in all of HER bridal invatations (which she sent to everyone on my side of the family).. I needed to use that picture in my invites and I just stayed up all night working on them. I don't have time to do anything else and I'm REALLY upset with her. What do i do?

Been with my man nearly 6 years and we were best mates for 2 years before that, we are great together ..... however I have always had a real phobia about marriage and didn't even want to discuss it. We've started talking about it more and more and i'm finally not scared any more. Thing is, because I spent so long putting him off, how do I get him to see that things have changed without basically proposing myself?? I know he wants to get married, I even know he has a plan how to ask me and it seems really unromantic to turn round and say "OK, you can ask me now!!

started because a friend of ours is having an all white party. So being the complete idiots my friend and I are we actually got a real gown! I went for my 2nd fitting yesterday and I pick it up today! I would wear this dress if it was my real wedding! Anyway, I guess my question is what do you think? And we rented a white stretch limo! And I'm going to send pics to my mom and apologize that she wasn't there due to it being spur of the moment! Some think it's funny and others think I'm twisted and dum. I think it's hysterical! What do you think?

My fiance's family has made it very clear that they don't want to donate any funds to our wedding or otherwise. My family is contributing just enough to cover the cost of the wedding. How do we ask for a honeymoon registry, being that I already have all the other "stuff" typically asked for in a regular gift registry??

We'd like to go to Bermuda and the packages run about $5K - $7K.

i have a friend who is a boy :-). he is very kind to me. he may like me, but i am not sure about it.
Last week, he must fly to work in another country for 1 year. On his departure day, I was sick so I couldnt see him off at the airport. I called him to say sorry about it. And he said: " U are sick since u lack of 1 thing - a boy friend"

I'm getting married soon, and I don't know what type of gift to get for my parents or my fiance's parents. My parents are divorced, and his are still married. I don't want to do the traditional wedding hanky or parent album, but I do want the gifts to be sentimental. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

I heard from my mom today that she told my brother, (her fiance) that she was thinking about brown pinstriped tuxes with turquoise. Oh my gosh! We all about died, my brother doesn't want those colors at his wedding and especially a brown tux. She has no taste. I feel sorry for my brother, he has classy taste. What would you do without being really intrusive?
