My invitations I picked up at wal-mart and printed myself. $19.99 box of 50. look like they were printed by someone for $150.00 I saw in a mag.

At the reception I had boxes with bells, bubbles, almonds, and a trinket I picked up from dollar tree. $5 each

On the tables I had a vase with 4 roses (for myself, my husband and my 2 sons) $5.00

Found rose garland at the Dollar Tree places around for decoration 15- $15

White Christmas lights bought at an after Christmas sale for $1.00 each

Went to a party store for plates, cups and silver wear. Actually found silver plastic wear.

Total wedding less than $2,000

I got my dress for $100. Most bridal shops have $99 sales periodically and usually have a nice selection. Our biggest expense was the reception. But since the lady that owned the place is a family friend, that price covered all food/drinks, cake, and all the favors for the reception. She even repainted the place to coordinate with our colors. My MIL did all the flower arrangements and both of my SIL contributed to buying the flowers (we did silk, not real) Our photographer was also a family friend who is a professional so all we paid there was the price of the film. Alot of the decorations from the church were taken to the reception site and set up there while we were doing photographs. Two of the pew decorations were tied together to be the "throw" bouquet. My mother made the flower girl baskets and the ring bearer pillow. Anyone that you know that is good at doing things like flowers, crafts, decorations, etc can help make these things. The materials for the pillow for example cost roughly $5 dollars and was far more beautiful than any I had seen that cost $50. I picked up software and paper to make my invitations at a party store. You can even buy these at wal-mart. My SIL just bought some really pretty stationary paper and made her Invitations using a Word program and they were beautiful.

Invitations can be purchased and printer on your home computer . If your wedding is small , you are creative and your handwriting is nice you can also make your own . If you are in the west part of America the dollar store can be a great place for favors but in the east the dollar stores do not have as much . The theme , style and size of your wedding has alot to do with that decision as well . Votive candles are nice ,and not real expensive go to this web site they have alot of stuff and at good prices

not only do they have favors but decor items and wedding keepsakes

Keep your guest list small. Get family and friends to help you with everything. You can make a lot of things that will save you money. Don't go overboard on flowers, find them cheap at a flea market or do something different for centerpieces (like floating candles). And you could even put together your own bouquets for cheaper. For pictures, a good idea that I've seen on here is to take the bridal party to Glamour Shots before the ceremony, it's a lot cheaper. And then just have someone take pics of the ceremony and the reception with a good digital camera. You could also get a friend to videotape it and make that their gift to you. For food, go with a buffet. This will be your most costly thing. Get some quotes from caterers, tell them your budget and they'll tell you what foods they can serve for that price. If it's still out of your price change, get party platters from restaurants. You could do stuff like wings, eggrolls, chicken fingers, ribs, mashed potatoes, salad, Italian, just about anything. They'll supply you with huge servings of whatever food you want. You would still want to hire some servers to clean up and set up the food. You don't want to worry about that on the big day. And if you're serving alcohol, get a bartender. Letting guests serve themselves can cause a big mess. Buy your alcohol and sodas when they're on sale. You could even serve only beer and wine to save more money. Get your cake from Publix, they're reasonable and it's good. For wedding favors, shop around on the internet, then check out Ebay for the same items and compare prices. I found the same exact stuff on there for cheaper than other websites. They also sell wedding invitations which is how I found mine. Good luck!

make your own, as far as invitations go. Hand written ones are more personal. Have you ever been to a scrapbooking store. Check out there wedding section. Some awesome paper and can even give you ideas on making the invitaions. Keep things simple... last wedding I went to instead of a bouqet she had one single long stem red rose. The brides maids carried one red carnation. Looked very prety and elegant. As for the wedding cake. Dont go for the tier wedding cake. Make your own. Go to someplace like Walmart and have them put a 1/4 sheet cake on top a half sheet. Price it against there wedding cake. here I can tell you a wedding cake 3 tier cost $140.00 you can get the sheet cakes both for around. $40.00 (I am a cake decorator and have done lots of weddings) I have seen so many party favors that people spend money on that guest dont even keep. Id have to say the cutest one I saw was 2 hershey kisses wrapped in colored plastic wrap with a ribbon around it witha wedding bell, and a note saying" A kiss from the couple to thank you for sharing our special day" Dont go for the big dinner like most people do these days. Why go in debt and end up paying for a wedding months after you are married. Wouldnt you rather have that money to start your new life with? I could keep naming things but his is getting a little to long... good luck!

Saving money is great... that way you have more to start your married life out with. The dollar store does sell favors now, that is great. Do you have any friends in the catering business? Try to have your wedding and reception at the same place. If you are getting married at a chuch see if they have a nice rec room you can decorate with flowers, glitter, and other things. That way you normally pay one flat price. Of if you or your parents have a really nice house, see if you can do it there. Also, some catering business do both the catering and open bar, see if you get a discount. The place I really wouldnt skip is the photography department.

You can buy inexpensive paper that allows you to print your own fancy invitations. They actually make kits to do it, check Staples or any stationary place. Call around and find a good rental place, and see if they carry any of the products you want to use at your wedding, renting is usually cheaper than buying. For favors, have the bridesmaids help make some, like candies wrapped in colored foil or something. Weddings don't have to be expensive to be stunning, but they will require more work. Best of luck.

I am going through the same thing right now. Keeping your guest list low is helpful, though in my situation he has a huge family. Make everything! I work at Michaels arts and crafts and the cake decorating teacher is making my cake for half the price if i bought one. My dress is coming from JCPenny (prom season) has white beautiful gowns. Or davids bridal $99 sale. Keep an open eye for fake flowers at cheap cost, michaels sells off season floral for sometimes $0.50 each. For the wedding keep it in one location i have found it is a bit cheaper. Good luck and best wishes.

The best site that sells things for cheap and has alot of things for your reception is oriental trading. You can get most of your things from there for a very cheap price. Register for the knot very good site, it helps you with everything. I am using their checklist, bugeter, and lots more from this site. It keeps you very orangized. Another website is forever and always this has the rest of the wedding things you need. For inivations try dawns invitations. They are pretty cute and the prices are not bad. You could also make the invitations by yourself. For a wedding dress you can check out davids bridal, marys bridal, and kanacca. Good luck and have fun. Best of wishes. Congrads.

Instead of throwing rice or birdsee, have a balloon release. You could have disposal cameras at each table and have the guest take pictures., Hve a friend or relative make the invitations on the computer. Have the wedding out side at a park in a gazebo.
