We have a strict budget for our wedding, we are a young couple and paying for most of it oursselves. Our guest list cannot be over 70 or 75. I had a friend email me to say congrats on my engagment and that she hopes she gets to come. That made me a little sad, how to I break it to her and others that they won't be invited. Not because I dont like them or anything, but we just cannot afford distant friends to be at the wedding in addition to family and close friends. I feel bad, but the reception is gonna cost about $15 a person, plus the high cost of photographers, ect. I just dont know how to go about telling people w/o hurting feelings.

I was invited to a first cousin's wedding, but my boyfriend of 5+ years was not invited. When the bride's mother was asked why this was the case, she said "no ring, no bring." I have declined to attend the wedding and thus have caused a huge family rift.

We have to get married sooner for immigration purposes. I am American and he is Canadian. All of our family is going on the cruise and I am trying to keep it a secret so they don't get upset for having to be at a fake wedding. Can I? Should I tell? Would you be upset?
Thanks

People keep asking me if I'm nervous. What do you think? I have just over 120 hours left to be a single man...I laughed when I pointed this out to my fiance' today. Would you be nervous? If married, were you nervous 5 days before your big day?

I've been asked to be the best man in my friend's wedding. I just received their invitation to the wedding and it was only addressed to me and says that I have one seat at the wedding. That means my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years was not invited. What the heck? I called the bride and groom and they told me their rule is that if their friends are either not married or engaged to their significant other they will not be able to bring them. This seems weird because 1) they are having about 200 people at the wedding and 2) I'm the best man. What's the protocol here. Please advise! Thanks!

My fiance says that I'm going to make a whole heck of a lot of people angry "because you are supposed to wear white" for your first wedding. Is that true? Are there any superstitions associated with wearing Ivory instead of White?

My fiance and I were together for about 4 years. Lately we've had some stress about moving into a new apartment and we recently got a new truck for him. Anyways, he was acting a little distant the past 2 weeks or so and I would ask whats wrong- hed say nothing. Well, this past Saturday we were cuddling watching a movie with our Tinkerbelle and it was the sweetest moment. Pure relaxation. Then the Sunday after that, he's telling me i give him too much attitude and I need to pack my things and leave. I've lived at his house for 1 year and he was so cold and cruel to me. What's worse is that there was no real reason for why he called things off. He just kept yelling and saying things were my fault. Im a tiny thing and I dont give much attitude to anyone for no reason. Friends and family say he was scared to move out of his parents house and play the role of grown up. Whats even worse is that he wont talk to me or return my calls, what do i do? I feel like something is pushing him away.

I know most people need 12 months to plan a wedding. But can it be done in less than that? Example...you got engaged in October, could you get married in the end of that following July? Thats 9 or so months? Can this be done while in College?

Im about to get married soon and I was wondering how to deal with people that want to come to ur wedding for free food and cake and good time, but never, ever invite you anywhere with them or never, ever consider you when they have a get together, or gathering or party. Am I wrong not to invite these people who dont give a durn about me?

Do you think it's wrong to want to check out your engagment ring behind your soon to be fiances back? When we talked about getting married and he told me how much he was looking to spend, I went out and started looking around. Well, I know that he went to put a downpayment on the ring that I picked out, thank God I went to see it because it wasnt the one I wanted! The lady he talked to got it all wrong! Lucky thing, the lady that I talked to called my fiance to clearify. Was I wrong? I mean he didnt pick it out, he wanted what I wanted.

i m recently engaged and going to get married in dec.06, she is very good girl probably the best i can get, i love her very much but problem is that SHE IS VERY SHORT-TEMPRED, AND I M VERY COOL TYPE OF PERSON. IN LAST SIX MONTHS WE HAVE QUARELLED 4-5 TIMES OVER THE PHONE, WHEN SHE IS ANGRY SHE SAYS THE WORST THINGS ALTHOUH IT IS NOT INTENTIONAL, SHE FORGETS VERY NEXT DAY WHAT SHE SAID WHEN SHE WAS ANGRY. I WANT TO MAKE HER COOL PERSON, WHAT I SHOULD DO ?

Just to get married and say you did, how soon can you get a divorce. And about how much total would it cost. I'm talking justice of the peace, and quickie divorce.
