my bf and i have been together for 15 years. he proposed on valentines day and his mother announced it out the next family gathering. me & my bf feel as though we are married we both don't want a wedding or anything. I just want to go to the courthouse - but everyone is asking (family) when is the date? now bf's brother has also asked his girlfriend of couple years and they are going to get married in june. it's be 4 months since he proposed what should we do? how should we handle. we don't want to hrt anyones feelings. I love his family but don''t necessarily want anyone there or making a fuss. or Am I abnormal for not wanting a wedding with floers and cake and band arrangements and finding a place and all that nonsense.?

If the wedding is planned for a year away, should the planner be involved then? Do they charge hourly or per wedding?

In 14 months and 1 day I'm getting married. Most of the time, I'm excited....and sometimes I'm like "OMG, I'm getting married. I'll only be 20." I want to be with him, and take care of him forever....but I don't know if me thinking like that is just cold feet, or a sign to postpone it longer. Someone who has been married young, please help me!

My matron of honor is planning my bridal shower with my mom's help. I'm concerned for her though because she will be starting law school just as she needs to really start enacting her plans for my shower. I understand its her thing but I don't want it to be an obligation just because she is my matron of honor. She'll be busy and although I know she'll do a wonderful job planning it, she has a tendency to take too many things on at once. She also micromanages - which is fine for her but I don't want her to get stressed. How do I ask her or persuade her to let someone else help? Or should I just let her be and hope for the best for her?

My fiance and I are 5 months away from the wedding (we've dated almost 5 years and been engaged 1 year) and he told me two weeks ago that he doesn't feel ready to get married. He can't tell me why, he just says he has a "feeling" and he is scared. Is this normal? We are going to counseling in the coming weeks, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this and how it worked out. Thanks!!

How do you arrange flowers after you buy a bouquet from the grocery store? I have no idea on how to arrange flowers. I would just stick them in a vase and add water but they look tacky cause they're not arranged. Isn't there an easy technique for flower arranging? Any good websites?

but it ran out ages ago. He has been living and working in the US ever since. What on earth do we need to do in order to get married? Does he get automatic permanent residence status if we are married? Does he have to leave the country and re-enter? I'm lost and need advice. We are both scared that he won't be able to come back here if he leaves.

My fiance asked me to marry him on valentines weekend this year without a ring and I didn't mind at the time. He just doesn't have the money to buy me my engagement ring he keeps saying he'll save and get it but he hasnt. We still have some time before we are actually getting married (March of next year), but I want a ring. I feel funny going to look at wedding dresses or even just telling people we are engaged wearing his class ring. I make a little more money thatn him and I could afford to buy it myself but he won't let me. How do I approach this without hurting his feelings?

I know it's much more comfortable if the venues were nearer, but let's say the venues were not near each other.... how far is too far? is 45 minutes away too far ? what is the maximum number of minutes it should take from venue to venue as not to strain the guests?
