Sure. Throw any kind of party you like and invite whomever you wish! The only thing is, don't expect presents. Presents are mandatory only at showers and at birthday parties for very young children.

You are probably graciously saying "But we DON'T expect presents! In fact, we'll put a line in our invitation asking people to NOT bring presents, so there!" As kindly and good hearted as that impulse is, don't act on it. Polite people do not imply that they COULD HAVE properly required or expected gifts.

"Great," you may sneer. "So you we are going have some people bringing gifts, and some not, a situation in which will EVERYONE feel awkward!" There is a charming way to avoid this. You do not mention the reason for your wonderful party until, at the height of the evening, you make an announcement and start popping corks!

I congratulate you and wish you grand evening ... here's to the NEXT 25 years.

I think you should give yourselves a 25 wedding anniversary party if that's what you both want!!! Or you could just go on the honeymoon part and put money towards that? Or do both as I don't know what your income, expenses are..........go for it! Have fun! Congratulations on 25 years!!!!

Sure, why not? My brother and his wife did that and it was great. Because they were throwing it for themselves, they asked that no one bring gifts, just come and have a good time. They took lots of pictures and everyone enjoyed themselves - a really nice time!

Sweetie, you can throw yourself a "Hey, It's Thursday!" party if you want to; go on and schedule the anniversary bash and have fun!
