nowadays the bride can choose a dress in any color she likes.
although black is not the most popular shade.
she may like it because it is the most flattering color, or b/c she is into "dark" things.

A bride's dress can technically be any color she wants it to be, because no one forces her into a dress of a certain color. However, she will likely face many negative comments and opinions if she wears a black dress, because it's not a generally accepted color for a wedding dress. She would choose this color to make some sort of statement - she may simply not care as much about tradition as other people and so go with a more flattering color or simply something she likes better, she may be directly rebelling against tradition and the norm, choosing the exact opposite color of the traditional wedding dress, or she may have a completely unique, personal reason.

Sarah Jessica Parker wore black when she got married and she looked great. A bride can wear whatever color she wants. White is not a symbol for virginity and wearing white wasn't popular until Queen Victoria wore white in 1840.

Traditionally the bride wears white because white is a symbol for purity and for a virgin. In the olden days men only wanted to marry a virgin and that meant he was the one and only man to be sexual with her. Men viewed women as possessions as well. Women usually were virgins back then and got married very young. Today some women wear off-white or pastels if they are older than thirtiy and re-marrying. But many women today wear white as a traditional attire for marriage regardless of the virginal status. White is a symbol for new life and rebirth-- just like a marriage means a new life together as one.
Women could wear black but that is traditionally a symbol of death and mourning----that's why it's worn at funerals. But if a women wanted to wear black, it's her choice.

Yes if she wants it to be. I'm not sure of the reasons why. Although I am about to get married and I have considered wearing black dress and him wearing a white tux just to be different.

Black is a very pessimistic colour to wear to your wedding.......i'm not superstitious....by i know a girl that wore black on her weddin....Both of his parents died next week while they were off honeymooning...so they had to cut the honeymoon and come back to the funeral....a couple of months later.....they got divorced!
I don't know...it was just her luck i guess
