It is my recollection that in the 40's/50's two people in the US who were married and wanted to divorce had to go to Mexico (or Las Vegas) to get one. Now most (if not all) states have much more liberal laws which allow divorce -- especially if both partners want it. When did that happen?

Sometimes I actually get the feeling that some of you are trying to rub it in the noses of those of us who aren't quite so fortunate. No snotty answers, please. Just tell me if I'm right or wrong...

They say that 50% of marriages in the US end in divorce. That statistic not only scares me, but makes me sad. How can a couple beat the odd and succeed in a happy and peaceful marriage? Seeking wise counsel from those who have been there/done that is always a good place to start. I eagerly await for all the perils of wisdom to come pouring in!! Thanks so much!

My husband and i have been happily married 15 yrs and been swingers about 8 yrs and it has never caused no jealousy or any other problems people say it will cause and just cause a lot of married people are swingers it doesnt mean their unhappy with their marriage or sex lives it just means they are open minded and want to try different things.

Why is it that grown men get attracted to minors? I'm a 26 yr. old woman, and I don't understand that.

My husband left me when I told him I was pregnant... what is really weird about this is that we were planning this pregnancy for over a year! We actually conceived on our first wedding anniversary!

For the last year he has been calling out "ou est Aiden?" when he comes in the door... just to leave?

He is Arabic and threatening to kill me because he says I am a salope who slept with other men... this is complete nonsense and a lie.

Why would he insist on hurting me?
Why does he say my child will be a bastard when it is his fault if the child has not father?

What can I do?
He also was violent with me when I told him I was pregnant... and he left without leaving me medical rights, money, passport etc.

He ****** me good!
And I am sick sick sick... but I cannot go to the doctor because he isn't with me and he has the cards! I have no money and he has left me to die.

What could I say?
What would you do?

Thanks... sorry for the drama

i asked for opinions the other day-14 yr old 27 yr old man, and you all gave me great responses, the same thing that my best friend and I told her daughter. Now as fas as the police they are investigating, he was charged with contributing to the deliquency of a minor. Well in our state you have to be at least 18 to consent to sex, and if younger then the other party can only be 6 years older not to be a crime, he daughter by the way believes that he loves her, so she doesn't want him to get into trouble, well her mother thinks otherwise, alot do. My concern is a man went to prison just today for messing with a 14 year old boy, i believe a little more than 20 yrs. Seems like the law is different for girls......he took from her the same as the man took from the boy, thier innocents........Why is she considered a hot a-s little girl now

breaking up at first was our age gap(him 27,me 37 but i look very young). Now he came back but i was shocked to find out that he still has these ideas and plus he doesn't want to spent the nights in my house like before,i mean he's a little distant.I really like him but for the first time in my life i feel insecure and sad. There's also another guy that he's very gentle and sweet and he cares about me.Even if i have real passion for my bf i think i have to stop it now bf i get hurt but it's very difficult to do it.I don't know how to move on.

I have noticed this pattern in my past 2 relationships. They stop wanting to have sex with me as much. I am told by people that i am very pretty, so i hate to think that they are not attracted to me... i am very open minded sexually, there is not too much i wont do, I try to be exciting, for example, slipping into something sexy, but it does not phase him, What is my problem

I'm 14 and recenty my parents got divorced. before they told me they said "you are the most important thing in the world to us and we want the best for you" well, i haven't been happy really. my girlfriends parents are divorced but they still live in the same house because they want to make life easier and better for her. i don't understand how they can say that they love me but still put me through all this crap. I've considered suicide a few times. my mom and dad seem really sad all the time too so i just don't understand how this is the right thing to do, for them too. can someone give me advice on how to cope with this?

I am divorcing my husband and have left the home and i found out from my son that he is telling everyone i had an affair when i didn't. Anyone who knows me knows i didn't but anyone who knows of me do not know and i hate that he is slandering my reputation all around town. I live in a small town and word gets around and he knows that. I don't worry about it as i know i am innocent but it still is a nasty thing to do. What should i do and why is he doing this...it is so diabolical. It just shows that i am very correct in divorcing him though..huh? no doubts...

Mind you I got "fixed" (OUCH!) and can not get her pregnant again. But lately she does let me climax inside of her because she says it is too messy and "runs" for two days. Is it that bad She never complained before.

why is that men and women react differently to porn?

men seem to view it as nochalant, no big deal.

women seem to have a problem with men watching porn
why?
is it low self esteem, and getting jealous over the women in the porn? do we secretly want to be those women?
it is just interesting that men and women see it differently.

would you be open to a serious relationship with a man who has been divorced and has children? I am in this situation, and a lot of people disagree with this. Just seeing how you all feel about it? I think to disregard a man because of his past, we could be missing out on lots of potential. What do you all believe?

My fiance kissed another girl at a party. He doesnt remember it happening, and was beyond drunk. I told him I would stay with him if he quit drinking, which he was more then willing to do. (so i thought) After about a month of keeping his promise, I found out he started drinking behind my back. Needless to say, I lost all trust for him. He knows this, and is doing nothing to gain it back. He still lies about little things, so I havent been able to even begin trusting him again. But I love him VERY much, and he loves me very much too, plus we have a family together. The good times definitely override the bad, and we are getting married in a month. But it all kind of hit me that I was stupid to agree to marry him before our problems were fixed. But now that the wedding is so close, it has made me realize that I could be taking a huge risk. Why wont he just stop this stuff? I love him so much, and it hurts me so bad. I have never once lied to him, or betrayed him. What should I do?

OK, I've been trying to get a divorce from my abusive husband for 6 months. I just went to a child support hearing with my lawyer on Friday and the judge said I am certainly owed support, but she has no jurisdiction because the father is in OK and I'm in FL. She said the interstate unit of the Child Support Enforcement agency is supposed to handle my case. The problem is, they aren't. I opened a case with them almost 11 months ago, and they still haven't given me a file number or attempted to find this deadbeat at all. I've called about it, my lawyer has called about it, and they still haven't pursued the case. The judge said for the lawyer to contact a specific person at Child Support Enforcement and that she'd even meet with that person and the lawyer to find out why they aren't doing their job, and if they aren't going to, the judge said she would enter an order for support. As far as the divorce decree goes, the lawyer says he could get it finalized next week, but he wants

I married this virgin girl from Pakistan. We attended the Majjid at the Islamic Society for the last 6 years. My wife had become friends with 2 girls from Jordan who seemed to be very promiscuous. They claim to go to women's outings but I found they went to hotels and met some other members of our Majjid. What is shocking is both my sons have really light skin and have grey eyes. My wife's two friends have a son and a daughter each, almost same ages as my sons and they look like brothers and sisters. I had a DNA analysis on my sons and neither is my genetic son. One of the women who is my wife's girl friends is married to a white boy with blue eyes and blond hair who converted to Islam. About 6 weeks ago he was kicked out of our Majjid for getting a married woman pregnant whose husband complained. I have a feeling he has fathered many children including mine. How do I go about asking for his DNA? He was the guy meeting my wife and the other 2 women in motels for the last 5 years.

Would you only want the full deal if you got oral stimulation on a regular basis? In other words, would you want to go through having to please your partner if you were being satisfied in this way?
