and is going to get her hair dyed and hightlighted exactly the same way as mine. The problem is I don't want her to, because I had my hair like that first, I don't want to look like her and everyone will think I copied her because I'm younger. What should I do? I've tried talking to her, and I know it will look terrible having both of us with the same hair but she won't listen. I can't afford to change mine right now, even though I don't like it (I've hated it from the moment it was done!), but I want to be myself without being copied. What would you do?

She first tried to buy my mom with gifts and calls and me with friendship. Once she became pregnant and married to my brother, she DISOWNED us?!?!!? She went to his dad's side where the money is and will not talk to me or my mom any longer. We leave messages and packages and notes for him and the kids and nothing is ever returned or acknowledged. Mutual friends have told me she likes the MONEY side of the family which does not include myself or my mother. My Mom doesn't want to believe she could have such a HOLD on my brother....I am forbidden from saying anything bad about the WITCH in front of my Mother and I am going CRAZY!!!! She used to be my friend but when I emailed her she told me to direct it to my brother? When I talked to him he said we are reading to much into it? Hmmmmm......they haven't brought their son to a holiday other than two times in the past three years. We usually get together 3 or 4 times a year plus other stuff.... Now they ignore us for the "rich"?

Ive been with my boyfriend for half a year now, things work out fine. Hes a single parent with 2 boys (4 & 6) who stayed with his mom in the US so far, because he serves in the US military & is stationed overseas where he & I met. Now, they are finally coming over to live with him/us, which makes me really happy, because they didnt see their dad in a long time (even before he was here, he was deployed 3 times already). Most of their lives they stayed with their grandma, because their actual mom f*cked up (excuse my language). The six-year-old remembers her, the four-year-old doesnt. Im pretty young (20) yet more mature than most young women at my age (been on my own for a long time & other factors made a deep impact on that). Ive been with children before, worked in daycare, did a lot of babysitting - but between watching and raising a child there is a big difference. I need advice on how to build a good relationship with the boys. I want to be their friend & mom (when theyre ready)...

i dont get it. i have know my daughter in law since she was a
teenager going with my son. i love her and i thought she loved
me. i have been nothing but nice. now they are married and have
a baby and she hates me. i offer to help when my son says she
is having a bad day if she needs anything i would bring it to her
she says i can come over but she dosnt answer the door. she says she is in the shower etc. she says to call and she dosnt
answer the phone. i only get to see the baby every two weeks
maybe for a couple of hour inbetween baby eating and napping.
her mom and family see the baby all the time and our family
saw the baby once. i am so hurt this is our first grandchild
and i thought it would be different. i bought the baby an outfit
and my son told me how cute the baby looked on thanksgiving
at her mothers house and i have never seen the outfit on her.
i also didnt see the baby on thanksgiving. i buy the baby a toy
and i never see the toy again. what should i do?

im 20 years old and my parents treat me like a baby. im rarely allowed out late unless i have a reason to be, im expected in by 10 on weeknights and 12 on weekends. and its not like i get in trouble or do anything wrong, i have awesome grades and ive never been in any serious trouble. its so bad that i would love to move out but i was told that if i did theyd stop paying for my school and i cant afford to pay for it on my own. id also love to rebel and just stay out but i dont want to run the risk of getting kicked out. its embarassing to have to go home earlier than kids younger than me. how should i handle this?

We already have three, but our son wants another one. (He wasn't yet born when we aquired the first three.) We have a pretty small house --1300 sq feet, though the cat box is in the garage, so it doesn't smell catty. Would another one push us into "crazy cat people" territory?

My best friend's young cousin, Casey, is concerned that her legs/arms/back/mouth sometimes twitch and she dosn't know why. She is twelve years old and she doesn't twitch all that much -- usually very small, and Lynn and I don't know why she does this; nor do her parents. Does anyone know why Casey may do this? Thanks :)

My daugther is 11 years old and I have felt the last 2 years that she needs to know that her cousin(that I am very close to) is her half brother. I became pregnant in college and gave him up for adoption to my aunt/uncle. I adore him and many people in our community knows that he is my biological son. However, my husband has been putting this converstation off with our daughter for the last two years. My concern is that she will find out from someone else and I DO NOT WANT THAT. I want it to be explained from us. Plus, I desire to do it when my husband is ready but he keeps putting it off. He is a awesome dad to our daughter so I understand the difficulty he is having to explain this to her so it doesnt change our immediate family dynamics...Please help with any suggestions...

My MIL has been a problem for years now and has been caught in saying mean things about her son & I. Of course she denies everything by not answering questions we have with "I don't know" or " I can't remember".
It has got to the point that we had a discussion and it ended up with my husband & I leaving. And of caourse it all got worse. But her is the major prob. she likes to make contact with either of us with the attitude of "kindness kills". She will act as if nothing ever happened and smile too. She makes us feel like we are nuts!!
Then there will be another argument and again followed by kindness. It is killing us!! She reminds me of Ray's mom on Everybody love Raymond. How do we get through this??

Probably not. My kids & I are flying east to spend Christmas with my brother & his family. Another brother & his wife are also flying east. We haven't had Christmas together in 13 years. Since my mom died 11yrs ago, we have spent EVERY Christmas with my in-laws. My hubbie can't get time off from work, so he is staying home & having Christmas with his family. The in-laws are upset/annoyed that my kids & I won't be here. What's with that?

My mother treats me like I'm a disease and abuses me CONSTANLY. She never feeds me actual food and when I told someone once, she had me put into a mental ward and told them I was violent. I had to stay in this ward for almost two years until they let me go. She makes me feel like a total peice of sh*t and the only time I hear her voice is when she's calling me names like whore, or *****, telling me that I shouldn't have been born and that she wishes I were more like my brother or wasn't there at all, and how it wouldn't matter if I disappeared and never returned. Then there's school. Everyone makes noises like they are pucking when I enter a room. And everyone laughs and giggles at me. I only have one friend, and he's been avoiding me lately.

I can't tell, and worst off I'm bipolar and very depressed. It's getting worse every day and I need to know what to do.

Please don't tell my to tell the police b/c I'm not going back to that ******* mental ward.
