and is going to get her hair dyed and hightlighted exactly the same way as mine. The problem is I don't want her to, because I had my hair like that first, I don't want to look like her and everyone will think I copied her because I'm younger. What should I do? I've tried talking to her, and I know it will look terrible having both of us with the same hair but she won't listen. I can't afford to change mine right now, even though I don't like it (I've hated it from the moment it was done!), but I want to be myself without being copied. What would you do?

Get some hair dye from walmart and use that until you get the money to go get it done at the salon.

Imitation is the best form of flattery!! You sister obviously looks up to you (even though you are younger) and wants to be like you. Instead of getting angry why not take it as a compliment. Do you really care what other people think? Is it more important to you to get in an argument with your own sister than to say "the hell with what other's think, this is my sister, I love her and I'm flattered that she wants to do the things I do"? Especially since you hate the hair color anyway?? If you STILL have a problem with her "copying" you then, I feel sorry for you AND your sister!! If my sister wanted to do something that I did I'd be excited and happy that there is one more thing we can share! I love my sister very much and I can't imagine letting a "hair issue" come between us!! Good luck!

hmmm...sister stuff......
you know what..i think you should be happy..why?
because that only means your sister like the way your hair dyed...right???she thought she would look prettier because she had seen you prettier too with your hairstyle...
and what's the problem there? why would you think of what other persons would say about you two having the same kind of hairstyle??
besides..you just can't control or stop your sister from being a "copycat" because she has the very right to do everything she wants to do...and what's bothering you anyway?? as long as you know you're the "original" then you don't have to worry about it anymore...because in this world...immitation is the best form of flattery

If you cant change your sister's decision, then you could try to change your other physical presentation features to divert attention from the similarities in hair color. Try to part your hair differently, or wear a clip, and change your make up. Tell your sister that you are just waiting for some more time before you change your hair colour to be different from what she wants it to be.

If you hate they way your hair looks from the moment you got it dyed...why dont you just dye your hair with those kits they sell at CVS or wal-mart. I got my highligts back in '99 and I HATED them, they were actually bleached so dyed it until it look more like my natural haircolor. Look I have sisters too and yes they like to copy me as well, but who cares. If they want to get their hair dyed...just let them do it and stop being selfish. I'm sure your not the only one in this world that has highlights.

sounds to me that the roles are reversed usually the younger wants to be like the older because even if they don't admit it they want to be like the older sister and the older always grips because they want to be them self without a younger clone . sit down with her and talk it over you might be able to come to a accommodation and end up liking each other more also maybe she likes the way your hair is and would be willing to give you help to change your style if you help her change hers

i hate it when people copy me! make everyone tell her how ugly it is after she gets it done. or somehow sabotage the hair dye. or make friends with the hairstylist and tell her to change it to make it different than yours. i don't know but i would be so pissed if that was me.
