My best friend's young cousin, Casey, is concerned that her legs/arms/back/mouth sometimes twitch and she dosn't know why. She is twelve years old and she doesn't twitch all that much -- usually very small, and Lynn and I don't know why she does this; nor do her parents. Does anyone know why Casey may do this? Thanks :)

We have talked to her many times; we still don't know if her twitching is resulting from growing rapidly -- which she is! -- or if it's due to something else. The poor girl is worried out of her mind :(

Not positive she does get all that much sleep -- she goes to sleep around eleven or midnight and wakes up for school around six.

Fatigue sometimes causes twitching. Is she getting enough sleep?

Sometimes when our bodies are tired we can experience twitches. If it is something noticible and bothering the child I would talk to her doctor.

it could even be mild seizures. although that's sounds bad it's nothing to worry about really. medication works wonders for seizures and the only really side effects i've encountered is some tiredness at first and ongoing crazy dreams. but since they are so mild i bet she'd be on a low dose and it wouldn't even be noticeable. she should get checked out though.

She may have Tourette's Syndrome. Or it could be Restless Legs syndrome even. I don't know. She should definitely be checked out by her doctor to rule out the possibilities though.

Maybe someone should take her to the doctor? Its probably a nervous reaction to something.
