My son's father has lied to me about his intetions with me and has been messing around with another woman and has decided to be with her. He is an felon, drug addict, alchie and liar. He is with this woman now cuz she's pregnant and now he is her problem cuz I know he hasn't told her the whole truth about himself. Anyway, I am going to go for full custody cuz he never took care of him anyway and has been locked up off and on for over 8 years of my son's life. I want to know if I should tell my son the truth about his dad? I don't want to be nasty but just tell him the truth and give him the facts. What do you think?

I keep asking my mother-in-law to NOT send us potted poinsettias anymore. My husband has asked her as well. They are lovely large plants that are very unyielding to carry around to the bathtub to water, I have a terrible green thumb and feel guilty when I can’t keep them alive. Basically, she doesn’t have a clue as to what to send us for the holidays, so, she goes with an old standby. How do I tell her politely that they are more than a nuisance than I care to put up with ? I have told her that I do prefer a bouquet arrangement and I usually send her one with some trinket with it, ie: a candle, teapot or mug. She has told me that she would appreciate it if I were to stop sending the keepsake gift, so I have and only send her the flowers. How can I get her to remember not to send a potted poinsettia ?

i live with my dad and my step mom. she adopted me at the age of ten or so. i feel put down everytime i talk to my step mom. my real mom left me when i was a child at three, and my step mom took me in. i do appreciate everything she has done for me, but she expects too much.i dont know what to do. i want to move in with my aunt but there are no emancipation laws here in ohio. i honestly need to get out of that house. and no one would understand unless you lived there.im not physically abused now but my emotions are so screwed up because im not aloud to make any decisions for myself. they try to plan my life for me even though i am seventeen. i have never even drove!!! i get yelled at for everything i do. i will admit that i have made mistakes in the past, but my parents especially my step mom thinks that i am always going to screw up.i just want to breathe.i need to know how i can go about getting out, if there is something i can do.any good ideas, that will help better my life?

Hey. I just became a dad 4 weeks ago. Me and my now ex fiance were happy all up until a few weeks before he was born. We split and her mum moved back here and got a place with her to help her out (who continually tells her what to do but thats a different story..).
I see my lil boy every day for half hour or so (i go to their place as uncomfortable as it is), but now she's trying to dictate when I can and cannot see him. I was wondering if anyone knew what the next step for me is, to make sure legally I can still see him regularly, how often that may be, and then what I have to do to stop her from legally leaving the state. We're in Tassie. Her mum is from Sydney and the lease on their place runs out in Feb, and I don't want her leaving with my boy!!
Any help or advice greatly appreciated (i realise i need to see a lawyer, but thought someone on here might know before i get a chance to go there).. :)

My son was in a tragic motorcycle accident 12/8/06. He suffered a crushed left leg, knee cap, foot, and fractured vertabrae as well as a broken rib in his back. As his MOM i live in illinois he lives in California----I've tried calling him to see how he's doing only to be told he's busy visiting with friends and he hangs up on me.

How can I get through to him that I'm concerned? Why is he being this way?

I have been remarried for six years now and share joint custody of two children (12 and 10) with my ex. We are on good terms and have agreed this coming summer (finally!) that it is alright if I move out of state. My current husband has asked for years to move back to his home state. It will be better financially for us all, not to mention other positive factors associated with the move. I have told the kids that they can pick if they want to come or not, since they are older. My 12 yr old has decided to stay here, and the 10 yr old wants to come with. I have a good relationship with both children. I also have two young children with the new husband. My question is this. When we move in the summer and my 12 yr old stays here, will she feel like I've abandoned her? Should I wait another year? (It's been 3 years already) Her father is good to her and I'm not worried that she won't be taken care of but I will miss her terribly, is it wrong to leave her here if that's what she wants??

For a few years now i've known my dad was with a woman from Dallas many years ago. And he says she had a daughter. My Dad died 2 years ago without ever telling any of us much about this. In fact I was the only one he told. This girl would be about 21-23 years old. He said the woman he was with was from a wealthy oil family so whebn she was pregnant her parents wanted my dad to have nothing to do with their daughter as money and probably image if its true was an over riding factor. My Dads name was John, he was Irish and he worked in Formula 1, this is what he was doing in Dallas at that time.. How would one go about trying to track this girl down..obviously I ain't paying a private eye.. Besides this girl has probably never been told any of this and I wouldn't want to just find her and come out with it. I would like to know who she is though ????

If they're so busy with all the other parts of their lives that they can't be bothered to raise their children, why don't they just put them up for adoption so that the children might have half a shot of being raised right?

Sometimes I get really great idea's or realise that I'm improving or doing something really well but no-one ever seems to support me or even notice in my family. I try really hard sometimes and get frustrated when one of my sisters accomplish the same thing and get heaps of praise and rewards but when I do something I get ignored. My mum is really stingy with compliments but when its either of my sisters she thinks they can do anything. I know this sounds stupid, coming from the youngest child, but I'm sick of feeling like I'm not getting the attention I deserve, and feeling like I have no-one to fall back on because no-one believes I can do anything. What should I do to get them to care?

My fiancee and I share a small 2 bedroom home together with my 6 year old daugther. His mother and her boy friend had their own place until they lost it in a flood and they been renting and rooming with their friends and now that they broke up she has decided that she is moving with us, and I sympathise and I always have liked her , but just dont see how the living situation will work out, I think they should have had flood insurance, she is 63 years old and dont have a car to even get around any more and in my opion I just think she needs her own life and peace of mind, I feel for her, but she just seems so independant and I want to have my own personal life , have you ever been in this situation, how did you handle the situation or how did/ would you deal with it?
