Both are important. Whether you follow the classical model of "Mothers as nurturers, Fathers as protectors", or a less stereotypical modern equivalent, children need role models to become well grounded human beings. No matter what the family structure, it is important for children to see elders of both genders since that is the behaviour they will emulate.

Both, but if I have to choose one, it will be a mother. It is in a mother's nature to provide everything a child needs. There is a reason why, when married couples seperate, the children in most cases stay with the mother. It is the courts objective to always choose the best situation for the child and that is with the mother. Surely it depends on the situation as it varies from one family to another.

The most important parent is the one that you get on with best. The one you can talk to about anything and know that they aren't going to judge you or love you less. Generally I would say a mother when you are younger (preteen) and a father when you're a teen or older, but thats only my experience and I know it differs between cultures.

I think it depends on the relationship you have with them.

I love my daughter very much and we have a wonderful relationship.
But she's always been very close to her daddy. When she's had a bad dream or doesn't feel well, she's always gone to him.
But then there's other things that she talks to me about that she doesn't want her daddy to know.

I honestly don't know who she'd chose if she had to.
My husband and I both work abroad.
We're one month in and one month out. Some months she missed her daddy more, other months me.

It all depends on your needs and relationship with them.

Good luck choosing.
They both so needed in ones life.

The fact of the matter is you can't do without any of them. That is the reason why God gave the responsibility of parenting to both of them.If one was more important than the other, they then would have been able to 'make' children alone

depends on current situation. if you raised by a single parent of either sex, they should be important to you. if you are with both, you shouldnt even consider choosing who's the best. if one parent is awful, abusive etc... no need to weigh your options. but either can be important.
