Sometimes I get really great idea's or realise that I'm improving or doing something really well but no-one ever seems to support me or even notice in my family. I try really hard sometimes and get frustrated when one of my sisters accomplish the same thing and get heaps of praise and rewards but when I do something I get ignored. My mum is really stingy with compliments but when its either of my sisters she thinks they can do anything. I know this sounds stupid, coming from the youngest child, but I'm sick of feeling like I'm not getting the attention I deserve, and feeling like I have no-one to fall back on because no-one believes I can do anything. What should I do to get them to care?

They are always putting me down too, and I feel like I've got no support system.

First of all, I'm glad to hear that YOU know you have really great ideas and that YOU know that you are doing well at things!! As for what your Mum thinks; it's a shame that she doesn't acknowledge it as well but, you can't make people give you the attention you want or need. What you CAN do is share your great ideas and successes with friends or other family members who do pay attention to you and show that they care about what you are doing. I'm sure it's very frustrating and hurts that your Mum isn't as supportive of you as she is your sisters but, if you surround yourself with those who give you the positive feedback you need and DESERVE, then you are less likely to find yourself needing what your Mum obviously can't give you. Keep your chin up Sweety!! It's ok to give yourself the pat on the back that others don't....you deserve it just as much as anyone else. Good luck to you!

Aye, lassie, i know EXACTLY how you feel..

Just keep in mind, as long as YOU feel you've done a good job, doing whatever you did. You DID do a good job. What others think is not important..

Those who mind, Don't matter.

Those who matter, Don't Mind.

good luck lassie.

You know God has faith in you. Ask Him to show you what He thinks of you. I guarantee you He'll have good things to show you.
