If they're so busy with all the other parts of their lives that they can't be bothered to raise their children, why don't they just put them up for adoption so that the children might have half a shot of being raised right?

Jon, the point is parents like that SHOULDN'T be parents! If both of them work, they should have the mental capacity required to figure out that they have no right to raise a kid when all they're going to do is stick them in front of the computer and the TV and expect them to be raised by them instead of actually doing their job as parents.

It's incredibly sad, I must agree too. This obvious bad parenting feature that they have must have been a cause of their own bad childhood, perhaps being brought up wrongly, to a degree at least. They're just not committed in providing properly to their off-springs, or maybe they're not very aware (no proper education) of this epidemic and need a wake up call - and of course, there are many excuses for allowing such misfortune to occur to these innocent children, and upcoming generations... excuses like, busy making a living, dependency on technology develops child's skills etc.
As for putting their children for adoption, it's not quite an option for those with hearts, and are just "accidentally" or unconsciously letting this happen to their children. It's a sad debate and many parents (especially young ones - being young in the first place could be a sign of lack of experience and thus little education in parenting) need a wake up call.

Lazy is the best answer. Its like getting a Dog and throwing it in the backyard and never playing with it or walking it. Sad :( Some people don't have there priorities right. Its called neglete. Many kids turn out ok anyway, thank God!

Look you can't always blame parents for that, they're trying to give to their children whatever they can, true there are parents who put way too much time in their work when in reality they could spend some time with their kids, but there are those who really need to work 24/7 just to give their kids a comfortable life ...

It's easier to let the "boob tube" be the caregiver/baby sitter. These are the same parents that blame society for the problems that happen by the very same methods they are doing to their kids.
It's just a slow degradation of "morals, values, and personal responsibility". As some would say.
