After a crap childhood (drunk father mother who had 6 kids but only loved 3 and admits it) after visiting my brother in australia for his wedding my mother ignored my 17 year old daughter completely and 2 weeks previously she walked passed my 14 year old daughter without even recognising it was her grand daughter .She has visited my street every day for the last 8 years because my sister lives around the corner (1 of her faves) So should i finally say enough is enough and just concentrate on my lovely kids??

Okay, My brother has the (early) terrible twos (he is one) and he is always falling out , screamign , crying, or biting , etc when he doesnt get his way. I dont really know how to calm him down besides a green apple or his new Diego ride on thing , what did you guys do when your child had the terrible twos?

My brother is also always following me, my mom said "You sister is also your mom." which sorta made me think is he too attached to me? Cause he is always laying down on my bed when I am in my room, if I leave the room he throws a tempature tanturm, if I leave eh wants me to take him with me , and he wont go to my mom if I am around. What should I do?

My neice is addicted to pot and cocaine (so far as I know), has absolutely no motivation, will not attend school and is beyond lazy! She is 17 years old. I don't know how to help this girl. I have tried confronting, she is not living in my home at the moment as I do not condone her behaviour! I have given her options like going for treatment, etc...but she refuses! What is my next step! I am at a loss. Any advice would be helpful because I really have no other experience with this kind of thing to fall back on! Thank you for taking time to help me and help my neice! ;-)

2 years ago we had this one cat named Shadow. He was my mom's baby, she loved him more than you can imagine. We had him for about 2 years previous to the above mentioned date. 1 weekend that summer my mom & dad were up at Penn State for the weekend. While home my bf & I found Shadow underneath a tree. He had been hit by a car but was alive. We took him to the animal hospital. I will spare details but we had to keep him alive long enough for my mom to get home & say goodbye. We then put him to sleep. 1 month later we got a new cat named Bungee. He is the cutest cat ever. He is a Baby, I mean literally, 2 years old & you can carry him like a baby everybody loves him. Well I woke up this morning & went outside & found Bungee by the steps & he was dead! Today is my mom's birthday & she is in Mexico on vaca till Sun. I have the vet holding him until she gets home. I won't tell her till she gets home but what do I say to her? HELP! She is going to freak out and I am freaking out. So Sad

My boyfriend and I are in our late 20's. We've been together for two years. We've had our own place, and his parents have visited for weeks at a time, seeing us share a home and bedroom. We're going to visit them for the first time, and they are making us sleep in separate bedrooms because we aren't married.

I feel that they're pulling the, 'our house, our rules' line as though we are children who must have rules enforced to show us who is boss in whose house, and this makes me very uncomfortable as I have been a self-sufficent adult for a very long time now.

My bf just caves.

We can't afford a hotel nearby, so I am thinking that I will not go visit this time, and send my bf on his own.

Any other adult suggestions for how to react?

My mom is trying to get me on SSI when I am an adult and I want to enter the Job Corps program so I could be less dependent on the State and Federal government which I do not want to end up like that. She does not understand that I have rights to make my own decisions. What should I do?

She still has a mortgage on the house. If she should at some point need to be placed in a nursing home, she doesn't want the house to be attached to that. So how does that work? Can she just change it, or does it have to be refinanced with my name on it?

I am 35 and my sister is 31. The last time I talked to her was January of this year. She was supposed to come see me in February, to celebrate a late Christmas. She never came and I haven't heard for her since. She has a drug addition and I'm very worried about her.

you see, I am going on a retreat and the only one of my family members who will be there is my brother and I probably won't see him much because he is in a different group! I am afraid that I will get homesick in the middle of the weekend and not be able to go back! How can I work with my homesickness?

If you did something wrong but not fatal is sorry ever enough to warrant forgiveness. I said sorry for something I should not have done but it seemed not good enough. Do you forgive? I forgive because life is too short for anger.

My daughter is 1 and 1/2 and we currently live in NYC. My plans for her future schooling are to send her to NC (my hometown) at least by the time she starts pre school and elementary. I work with a corporation and may not be able to make the move with the rest of my family so soon.. I know that if we made the move now I would miss her terribly but at the same time i really want her to go and enjoy the fresh air, a nice backyard and all. I would have to at least go down every weekend to be with her. Im trying to put her best interests ahead of mine and I Need a bit of advice.

I love NYC, but this isn't the type of place i'd want her to grow up in. The public school system here is very very bad also. I will eventually move back to NC, but id like to wait a few years before considering a job transfer.

The last thing my brother needs right now is a child, everyone in the family thinks that abortion is the answer. It is NOT!! Ok my brother is a troublesome kid. But a good kid overall. He has been in alot of trouble for numerous things...drink in public, possesion..etc...His girlfriend is 15! And has three crazy brothers and a crazy dad. They want my brother's head for this. It is not only his fault!! It takes too! I am not even sure what my question is, I just don't know what to do...I am so scared for my brother.

Ok so I am 22 years old married happy, have my own life...
My mom tells me last night she had an abortion when I was one month old. I am totally devistated! Apparently, my grandmother (my fathers mom) told my mom that she was trying to ruin my fathers life, and she had to have an abortion.
What do I do.
What do I say.
Why would my grandmother do that??
And why would my parents agree to that?
I am so confused and upset.
Why did everyone else but me know until now??
