You dont' speak to him for 4 years and now that he has money you expect him to give it to you? Sorry but I think he's right. Expecting him to share his winnings with you is very selfish of you. (And it doesn't matter if you, your brother or both of you are the reason you haven't been talking).

Myself and my brother don't speak but if he won the lottery I know he would be splashing the cash all over the place just trying to sicken me. It wouldn't bother me that much because he would still be the person he was before and that's why we don't talk. The best of luck to him at least I can stand by my morals and know that I wouldn't be all over him just for the money. He is who he is and I am who I am, all the money in the world cant change that. If you won would you treat him? Do you feel left out about the money or just that you have been left out of the whole situation, maybe you miss him!

1) You need to be happy for your brother
2) If you want to contact your brother you better make sure he doesn't feel its because of the money.
3) You haven't spoken for 4 years, why not? Perhaps you need to sort this out rather than the lottery winnings!!!!
4) Ask yourself if you want to heal the rift with your brother and when you do, forget he has any money as for sure he is just waiting for you to come crawling out of the woodwork!!!!

Seems a bit unfair to me, maybe the root of it is down to why you have not spoken for 4 yrs, perhaps he has chosen this to punish you for not approaching him before he won the money to sort out your differences. I would send him a nice little letter saying that although you have had your differences in the past, you wish him all the best for the future now he is set for life & that before you loose sight of each other forever you would like to talk...making sure that your plain in your letter that you are NOT after his money. Maybe this is time for you two to make up and see what happens.

Well mate I'm glad you're over the fact you brother won the lottery and didn't treat you because you and him don't have a good relationship so you just carry on with your life and be happy with whatever you got

You say money is the root of all evil (it's actually the 'love' of money is the root ...) was it money then that came between you and your brother 4 years ago? It is a bit of a bummer though, what do your other siblings think?

that is harsh, he should of made the effort. money isn't everything but it would of been nice to of been offered that new car that u always wanted, even if u did the right thing and turn it down.. now ur in a catch 22 situation... if u make friends with ur brother, are u going to be dissed because of the money, and if u dont, are you going to get stick from the family because they have been bought with his money.........

good luck with this.. x x

it's not "money is the root to all evil" it's "the LOVE of money is the root to all evil."
Obviously you and your brother had issues before he won the money if you hadn't spoke for 4 yrs. If I were you, I wouldn't have expected anything from him.

You guys haven't talked in 4 yrs, what did you expect? A monetary reward?

The evil existed way before the money.
