You know there's a fine line between "hit" which is abuse, and punish which if not taken to extremes isn't abuse.

If you mean punch, then no. I've been slapped across the mouth for being sassy, whipped with a belt for misbehaving, mind you - this was a very long time ago when it was allowable to discipline your children and not have the cops called every spanking. Parents do tend to take things to the extreme and that's really sad. Children are given to us by God as gifts. It is our job as parents to make that gift into a precious human that God would be proud of. They are not given to us to misuse. I'd only wished that I learned that lesson before I had my children. I'm not saying I beat my children, but we all went thru some emotional rollercoasters. They are good people tho and I'm proud of them!

I'm a parent and I don't hit my 9 yr. old child, but I do scold her
and take away her play time with her friends, which she hates
that and that is why most of the time she is good. Straight A
student and never in trouble by school official. So there is no
reason to get mad at her, we are close mother and daughter
and I am also close to my 22 yr. old daughter no need to hit her
either when she was growing up. I don't like hitting cause it'll
probably make me cry, sounds silly but it's true.

The only time my parents hit me was when I was misbehaving in either public or in home. It wasn't so much as getting slapped across my face or anything, but more like a spanking in which if I wanted to sit down, I was going to have a hard time. Now if you are over the age of 18 and they still hit you, sounds like you need to grow up or whatever the case may be.

Yes!!!! I was raised in a educational family where the belt was the book and we had to occasionally go back to the book to learn and understand. My dad is softer than my mom. He only weeped me, once or twice. But my mom, hmmmmm my fingers are not enough for the count. My mom adopted a boy, and he apparently was fascinated with the oven. So he would play with the controls. Mom, being the investigator that she is, found out about it. And she had a great surprise awaiting my adoptive brother. She took him startlingly, and burned his fingers to the hot stove!!!! I was so terrified, that when I saw any ovens whatsoever, that terrifying memory would come to mind!!!! Talk about the army, my life growing up was more like a boot camp!!! However now that I'm more mature I realized that I am thankful for her spanking me. If she didn't, I would have regret it for the rest of my life. Hey look at the kids with bad behavior!! where do they get it from? surely its not from TV!!!

I got smacked across the face a few times when I was younger. No big deal, I deserved it. My husband's dad punched him in the face a few times when he was growing up and even broke his collarbone once.

It sounds like you are crying out for help. You should talk to a teacher or other adult that can help get some help for you.

In what way? Punch you in the chops? or swat your butt?
I had my butt swatted a few times. It is called correction.
But, I was never punched or slapped in the face or anything like that
