I have a cousin who lives many miles away (although in the same country). I think I do quite a lot to keep in touch and I try very hard, but don't find it very much reciprocated. She emailed me photos of her previous holiday and I answered her straight back and praised the photos. However, when it was my turn to send photos of me and my family, I didn't hear a dickie bird. I try so hard with her, but it always seems to be one sided. Should I just leave her be? I keep saying how nice it is to hear from her when she does eventually make contact, but that's it - nothing happens after.

I suffered terribly for 10 years with a controlling manipulative step father whom my mother refused to leave. Did anybody out there have the same problem? Psychological bullying and the like. how does it affect you now you are grown up??

my grandmothers a psycho ***** from hell and has manipulated my family many a time in the past. She's turned me against my own mother before when i was young (i didn't see my mum much as she was always working as we had a low income and my dad was at college so she babysat) she never agreed with my mum. She convinced me that i'd murdered my best friend when i was 5 yrs old and i was believed her for 6 years.
mum then put me into counselling to help convince myself that i didn't kill him he was an old man with a drinking problem that died of alcohol abuse. she left us alone for a while whilst i was finding my feet during the whole family arguments. she has manipulated my dad again and we had a huge row and i felt like i was absolutely nothing to anyone... my mum has now had a row with me just cause she has major PMT and she is overtired so she took it out on me and i felt like something for her to break.
what's the best that i can do i've already zoned out and cut myself once

I'm quite a young adult and spend this holiday at home, with my parents. i brought home some yaoi mang and anime, just to kill time - but my mother found them and started yelling that her daughter was gay! how can i convince them that i'm alright? i don't want them to suffer.

For those who don't know, yaoi is Japanese guyxguy fiction.

I'm on a bit of a budget, but I'd like to get a nice gift for my father who has been helping me plan and pay for my wedding. Other than the usual photo album, or golf accessories, what should I consider? He's a basic kinda guy. Doesn't have lots of hobbies due to back injuries. I'm drawing a blank on this one...help! Thanks.

i feel as if they are all gold diggers! my mom is crazy, i think she is bipolar, i have a fat sister who is a lesbian and never helps around the house, and my other sister is my twin and CAN'T GET A LIFE! last night she woke up my mom at 3:00AM because she was having a fight with me! so my mom got mad at me. Guess what is worst! SHE IS ALMOST 21 YEARS OLD! And on top of that i never have any privacy with my boyfriend because she is always calling and asking stupid stuff, for example a typical conversation is "where are, what are you doing, im calling cuz im bored!", we can't even have a quiet evening without a ******* phone call! Im going mad! plus i can't move out of my house or else my dad won't pay my college, and even if i get a job, it won't be enough for college and apt. together and in the country i live in there is very little to no financial aid for college! im so depressed! By the way im almost 21, im a twin sister

They have been here to help me get back on my feet after some personal problems and I moved in their home. It is nice they like me being here, but now they seem to think I should just stay here until they are gone. They are both near 80 (healthy) and I am 40's. I want to emerge from this small town and get back to my life in the city. How do I draw the line between guilt and setting my own goals? Anyone else in similar position? Thanks for positive input!

I know she has to work to pay bills, I have a fulltime job too so I know what its like, but it hurts me because I miss her and I am considering moving out coz then it wont hurt me, but then there's the whole money situation... I am 17 btw (I live in Australia too, legal age is 18 not 21 like in US). What should I do?
