Family - August 2006

i am watching the children play in my area and some are good while some are just bold and violent i see there parents let them do what they want and hurt other kids and wondering what there going to be like when they grow up they back answer and shout i really feel sorry for them so is it us as parents that are to blame for all the thugs and bad people out there after all they are some ones son or daughter??

i have 2 boys who are 15 months apart that i am raising on my own, plus a full time job. i'd like to start being a little active, like going jogging or simply doing situps every once in a while, or even just clean house, but by the time i wake up in the mornings, my kids are up, and at night i am exhausted. on my days off, when the boys go down for a nap, i find myself napping with them. does any one have any suggestions as to what i can do to increase my energy??

My 17yr old daughter is dating a boy who's year and a half younger than her who's a complete loser. He has no motivation, no social skills to speak of. My husband & I have tried just about everything short of forbiding her to see him to convince her that she can do better. She's tall, has long red hair,and unlike many redheads she tans. She's very very pretty. So we see why he wants to be with her-she's pretty, drives (has a truck). We've told her that she deserves better and when asked she can't give us an answer as to why she's with him. I would love any input on how to convince her to dump him and move on.

I have had several relatives die of cancer and a couple of good friends that have survived cancer. my dad was the last one and since then I have a hard time dealing with anyone who has cancer especially his sister. Can anyone help me get over this feeling or at least cope with it?

My 15 yo daughter was sad, adolescence anguish, and asked for the help of a teacher she likes much and is a kin of her confident. She is a very nice woman and hepled my daughter, but when I got to knwow I got really said and told my girl Oh, so you fired me from my mom functions? I'm not good any more to give you love, advice, support ? A stranger took my place, She hugged me , gave a lot of kisses, said No way mom, I love you, no one can replace you, it's just that sometimes we need to talk to someone not so involved, we need a second opinion, , etc. But I was down and even cried, My girl comforted me, was wonderful, and even said laughing Mom in this house the teen is me, not you! I had to laugh. But Im still sad and upset, am I losing my girl? ,

In terms of looks, I obviously failed them and cannot make them proud of me -- even though my family never says anything bad to me. I am 18 years old and about to step into youth, but I feel so old and spoiled because I have a feeling my parents are sad about the way I look.

What can I do to make them proud? Please this is a serious question... take it that way.

I live with my grandmother. I pay for my expenses. I've been living in this house all my life. Now that Lebanon is under attack, our realtives from Lebanon have come to stay with us. They are my aunt, her son and her daughter-in-law. Ever since they came, my life has been turned upside down. My aunt moved me out of my room into the guest room because she likes my room better. I can't get access to my stuff. My stuff are being used without permission and put where they don't belong. I have been on a diet for a while. Now I can't cook my diet food anymore. They order my grandmother around about what to cook. They ask about everything I do. I can't go out with my friends anymore becasue my cousin would want to come with us and I don't like him. Now I've put on weight. I feel very bad. What should I do? Should I go away to stay with a relative for a while? Should I try to resume my diet and try to go out and fight my way through it? I am imprisoned in my own house. Please help me.

She'll take up to 2 hours in Walmart when she says that it'll only take 2 minutes. She takes like a week to make herself order something for someone off the internet, she spends the most time on the phone when we need to be leaving,and we're usually late wherever we go, and she usually feels bad about it which makes me feel bad. But she also does this thing that when she finally is ready to go and my brother wants to go back upstairs to get something she gets mad and sits down for like 10 more minutes and complains that she told him to get ready. It gets really annoying and I can't tell her that it is because she's really sensitive about it. How am I supposed to help the situation?

Ok where do I start? Ok my father died of cancar and it's almost been a full year without him. Next month on the 21st he'll have been gone an entire year. He battled cancar for 3 and a half years. He and my mother adopted me and my three other siblings. The youngest of my siblings was 12 when my father passed away. She crys over the littlest things. Caskets on tv,fathers hugging there kids on tv or in reality. She gets emotional all the time. Its embarassing. My older brothers and sisters feel the same way. She gets an attitude and yells at me whaen I tell her to stop. She tells me that I need to get out of her life. What should I do about her? My mother always takes her side. I think it needs to stop. She needs to control her emotions more. She does it in public anywhere you name it. What should I do?

I don't know what to do. He keeps insulting my intelligance and calls me stupid. He also insults me about my wieght. When I try to tell him to stop, he gets really angry and mean.
