I think it's great that you talk with your mom... and even more so that she takes the time to listen to you. Frankly, you need a confidant and who better than the person who knows you the best? My mom and I have always been close and I also tell her pretty much everything... always have. I found that while I was in school, even my friends would come talk with her. I thought that was pretty cool to have a mom who could listen and often make things seem much better in life!
By the way, I'm 33 now and my mom and I still talk every day... and I live 3 states away from her!

I tend to do the same. I can keep secrets if other people want it to be a secret, but I always talk about whatever is going on, and sometimes I feel I do it too much, cuz no one is ever that open and honest with me.
When my daughter is in 8th grade I hope she tells me things that are going on. I think it's good to stay in touch with each other, instead of shutting the other person out. It will also earn you trust since you are so honest with your mom.

I think you're fine and I actually kind of envy you. I never did establish a relationship like that with either of my parents, and find it too difficult to do so now (I'm in my mid 30s)...a lot I keep from them as a means to protect them (for instance, I had a health scare last year with melanoma that they never knew about)but everyone says I'm in the wrong by doing so.

There is nothing wrong w/ having an open and honest relationship w/ your mother. you should however think twice about telling her your friends troubles. It might be they tell you things in confidence. Try to be a little more selective in what you say. If one of your friends is in real trouble, don't hesitate.

that is definitely not telling her too much. your mom is someone you can count on and go to in your times of need. telling your mom everything is actually better than not telling her anything because it strengthens the bond between you and your mother. it also seems like you tell your mom a lot of your problems because she helps come up with solutions. telling people about problems helps release stress. i say keep talking to her!

no, that's fine...I confided stuff about my life, school, and friends to my mom up to my freshman year of college, and even today (I'm a senior in college) I tell her some things, but not as much...it gives her a sense of reassurance to know I still depend on her for advice and somebody to listen to, plus she won't worry about you as much. Trust me, just keep talking to her and if it's something you don't feel comfortable telling her, you're not obligated to unless it's an emergency...just realize that by talking to her it will make her happy and make her think you're responsible

You can never tell her too much. I think if you can trust your Mum with your secrets, and she thinks about your problems, you are a very lucky girl. Keep it up. You will have a wonderful relationship with her. I am jealous.

Your Mom is the best person to talk to. She's been through everything that you're now going through and just think, if you continue to be open and honest with her, she'll trust you more and won't snoop through your private things.

Its only good that you are so open with your mother! Keep doing it, you will see how good it is when you are older and begin to date guys, believe me, mother knows the best! While the friends change, leave, lie, cheat, your mother wont ever be able to do that as you are her daughter and she is your mother. Such relationships are only praiseworthy!
