I have had 4 children (we live in the same town, all of us) and my mother never visited me....my sister just had one and she did. We are her only children, she is the oldest. I didn't say anything to her, just to my sister about how i was l sightly offended. Anyway, long story short, my sister told my mother and now she is offended that I am offended! Am i just being a selfish person? would you be offended. I told my mother no comment on the issue when she asked me because i don't want this to be an issue, it is about the celebration of my sister and her child...but I still can't help but feel slighted on this.

We work hard to give them what we can, but they won't work to help themselves. They don't have to pay rent or utilities. Yet when we tell them no or give them a curfew they hate us. I never liked my parents because they practically pretended I didn't exist. I had friends that got along great with their parents, because it seemed their parents really cared. You buy your teenagers nice clothes and they wear them to go paint a friends house. What is up with all this? Are they just spoiled and selfish? We feel like we have done something wrong. What is wrong with loving your children?

How do you fix a dream that has been broken by a loved one? You have done everything possible to make the dream come true and they turn around and steadily put you down.

Im a single mom with 2 little boys ages 2 and 3 1/2. I work during the day (mon-fri) and Dad gets them on Tues. and Sat. I dont feel like I really get enough time to do stuff with them. When I get home from work Im really tired but I dont want to sit on my butt all night long. Does anyone have any ideas of some fun things I can do with my boys? I dont mind messy projects. We dont have a very big house but we have a HUGE yard.

Do you feel like you are disconnected from your neighbors in the suburbs? Do you even know your neighbors? Do people sit
on their porch and people watch in the summers, or hide in their
home away from the world? Does anyone actually care or give a
damn about you in your development? Would they even bat an eye
if you died or took ill? Again, do you feel disconnected from the
people that surround you where you live? Personally, I feel road
rage even from the people in my own subdivision. I have been
cut off even leaving my subdivision by my wonderful neighbors.
I don't know where the anger comes from. Its an upscale place
and most people are making big bucks, but they seem to be the most miserable and petty people you'll ever meet!
I blame it all on the way developers have laid out subdivisons
in the last 10-15 years. They are built expressly to isolate people.
Every one has the illusion that they are a private castle with the
drawbridge drawn up. Written in the sub's DNA...

I don't mean taking a DNA as soon as he or she is born; I mean after 5 or so years, after you have been accustomed to being the father.

I moved on from No.2 although he was kind and loving, a big help round the house and a good father.Come to think of it he was good looking too but he was as dim as a nightlight and in the end was driving me slowly nuts. My new one is completely the opposite and I dwell sometimes, like now, on why we woman just can't count our blessings?

I lost my father about 2 years and a month ago, and my mother just passed during this past January. It's been really hard adjusting since I'm only 20 and obviously my life is just currently getting itself going and I lost my biggest cheerleader. I've been working a lot more and I tend to get really into video games and books or other "fantasy" related things when I'm dealing with things. I guess it's my way to gain control.

How does everyone deal? What do you do to forget, or accept what has happened?

my 15 yr daughter lives with her aunt (because of some bad things she did living at home). she came to visit this weekend. she wanted to stay until friday (just so she could talk to her bf) i told her she had to go to daycare and help out while i was at work (did not want her home by herself) she threw a fit cause she had to get up early. she said i am going home today and i am not coming back here. i said okay whatever you want to do. it hurt my feelings, but then again it was kind of a relief to have her leave. she makes our whole family uncomfortable with her attitude and outbursts. i want her to come visit, but i can't handle the disrespect.
