Im a single mom with 2 little boys ages 2 and 3 1/2. I work during the day (mon-fri) and Dad gets them on Tues. and Sat. I dont feel like I really get enough time to do stuff with them. When I get home from work Im really tired but I dont want to sit on my butt all night long. Does anyone have any ideas of some fun things I can do with my boys? I dont mind messy projects. We dont have a very big house but we have a HUGE yard.

Pick up a copy of "Playing Smart" by Susan Perry. You can find it on BN.com or Amazon.com.

This book is so full of ideas it's amazing. Everything from creative questions to get your kids thinking, to projects. Ideas for standing on long lines, for fun learning on vacation, etc.
I adore this book.

2 and 3 1/2 are wonderful ages for fingerpainting. At those ages little ones love to listen to short stories climb and run. Just playing cars & trucks with them is fun. When my kids were that little just playing at a playground was fun to them. Going down the slides and playing on the swings. As long as you are down on their level you all will have a blast.

Playdough! One of the things I loved doing with my mom growing up was making our own playdough. It's great in that you can make large quanities for very little cost and be as creative as you want with colors, and it's edible (not very tasty, but edible). :) You can even bake the creations when you're finished, or keep the dough in an airtight container in the fridge and it will last for weeks. Email me through my profile and I will send you the recipe if you want it. Best wishes!

Play hide and seek, play tag, toss a ball around, get a trampoline and bounce around, play on the sing set, bury small prizes in the yard and dig for buried treasure, the possibilities are endless.

Make dinner with them, like Jello, frozen juice pops etc. Sit in the floor and play finger paint. Go out and blow bubbles or get a kiddie pool and slash away.

there's a million things you could do with a huge yard. set up obstacle courses for them to go thru and offer prizes, or water balloon tosses, or water fights. you could also so arts and crafts, or have a picnic, or something like that. lots of luck.

Read books to them, toss a ball with them, have a picnic in the living room. Have a movie night.
