I'd suggest you bring him shopping instead. If you buy him something, it might not be of his preference. Giving him money doesn't seem warm and symbolic enough. Going shopping with him, on the other hand, allows the both of you to establish a deeper bond because you end up spending time together. Besides, it gives him the impression that you put in the effort and respect his opinion when you spend quality time with him.

If you can stand being around him long enough take him to the movies. Let him pick, if not the movies maybe Cd's or a game or something he collects. I have a 19 and a 15 year old and sometimes the oldest will take him places likes concerts, movies, shopping just so they can hang for awhile.

Maybe a new cell if he gots one. then shopping or mp3 player a card to buy music with. and 10-20 $ is not enough if your planning to give him money. My dad gives me $20 every 2 weeks and i spend it in 3 days. So like mabe $50

If he has access to the net why not put some money onto an mp3 site for him to download whatever he wants from? thats part of what we've given our 13 year old for her birthday in two days time.

You could get him a gift card for $20 to a big store like a Walmart. Then he could put it towards a video game or movie...
You could get him 2 movie passes to a local theater so that he and a friend could go.

about 10 - 20 dollars is good... but how about a gift card from his fav store or mall.. that way he can pick what he wants and you know he will use it someplace other then on food and pop

You would be his best friend........... forever and ever if you gave him $50 or $100 and no present. Money means more at that age. He can get whatever he wants.

Of course he would love you forever and ever anyway........ he is your little brother.

Good Luck
