Okay, I'm REALLY shy around everyone! I have to go to my aunt's baby shower on Saturday and my 3rd cousins are gonna be there and a guy that I really don't know. I'm gonna be the only teenage girl there around teenage guys. One of them is actually related to me so that makes me more comfortable. We have to go swimming in the pool and that obviously means that I'll be even more self consicous in my bathing suit. Any suggestions on how to be confident?

My father-in-law needs money, and he has asked me to take out a loan for him. He cant do it himself because hes not a citizen and banks here dont give loans to foriegners. That means Ill have to take a personal loan, give him the money, and wait for him to pay back the installments every month.

It is a sensitive time as well because my wife and I had some problems and she moved out 4 months ago, and we are in the process now of working things out again. Her parents are currently helping in convincing her to come back home, but things are still not certain from this point.

As you can see, this is a very bad timing from him to ask for this kind of favour. Whats even worse is that if I turn him down things will change dramatically! Unfortunately, I have to turn him down because I cant risk him not paying back the loan and carry a bad record with the central bank. Plus I might need the money for a rainy day!

What do you think? What should I tell him? Anything else I should let him know?

everyday i leave my phone at home my mom reads all my texts and looks at all my calls. (i know this because when i come home all the messages my friends sent me throughout the day are read) today when i came home from summer school the picutres on my computer were up because she was looking at them. she reads my notes too. she even cleans my room to make sure im not hiding anything. she never finds anything either so it irritates me that im not being trusted nor have any privacy. im not allowded to have a boyfriend. when i turned 16 i was supposed to be allowed too but now its 18. my brother who is going into 7th grade has already has 3 and she did nto do anythign about it. he has girls over all the time in his room. but i had a gay boy over in my room and was grounded for 3 months. she lets my 11 year old brother do more than i can. ie tried talking to her but she says she can look through whatever she wants.

I'm sure most daughters and sons of elderly parents know that sometimes their parents will not be able to take care of themselves. Will the question is how will you tell them they need to be taken care of by professionals and not rely on you and their weak bodies to take care of them? Then there is the question what if they have to take alot or various drugs given by doctors to keep their bodies working properly, and what if they just refuse to put themselves to taking an abundance of medications? How will you tell them it's time to quit being a loner and start to lay down into their final years of their life?

Did anyone have a fun and creative way to let your parents (the soon to be grandparents) know they are going to be grandparents? (especially for the first time) Just planning ahead for future reference. :-)

In my family they happen in 3's. Our neighbor recently had 2 deaths (a 22 y/o and a 65 y/o) in his family within just a couple of weeks and said he was waiting for #3. He said it goes like 1, 2, 3 and then nothing for a number of years. I just wondered if this was coincidence for us or if others notice this in their family.

If a parent beats a child (phsyical abuse), then the child grows up and repeats the same behavior, whos fualt is it? The adult because he taught the abuse, or the child because he chose an abusive path.

I was curious to see what others thought.

I am 23 and I live with my mother.. I am finding that I am short with her lately. I am in my career, and I pay $350.00 a month to live there, and pay for all of my own stuff. The two of us have been living there for 3 years. When ever I talk about moving out, she always says that she doesn't want me too, and makes me feel guilty. Should I move out? She has be planned in her 5 year plan, and that makes me guilty as well. She has arthritis, and has a hard time walking up and down stairs.
