Family - June 2006

My gf and I have been together for about 1 1/2 and we both love each other dearly. She has two kids (daughter 14, son 12) and her son wanted to go visit his dad in Reno, NV. She said that was fine but the other day he called and told her he didnt want to come home cause he didnt like me. He said he wanted to make her happy by not comming home and getting in a fight with me everynight.

The reasons we got in fights all the time is cause he would never do what he was told and would never listen to his mom nor me. And he would call us every name in the book! He likes me when I give him his way but the one day I told him "NO" he started hating me. Should I leave and tell her that it is better that I dont get between her and her son or is it just a faze he is going though?

Please Help I really love her and I dont want this to end!

My husbands family is all about kids and my parents think I shouldn't have kids because "in this day and age, they are too expensive and you've invested too much in your education to spend the rest of your life babysitting..."....blah blah. My husband's family keeps asking why we dont have kids. They are starting to be rude about it and I'm so torn between them, my parents and my own feelings. I can't sort through what I truly want and what I've been "taught" by my parents. I'm afraid if I do have kids, my parents will stop talking to me. How do I sort through all of this?

My husband and son are going vacation to see my husbands family, but i dont want to go.. i feel like i need my own down time, plus i am remodeling our house and i need that time to do it as well.. but if i dont know, everyone will be pissed off at me that i dont want to.. what should i do ?

My brother is 19 and is having a lot of anger management problems. He is lashing out at all of us, has attacked my stepdad, is abusive to my moms dogs (he kicks them if they are in his way), verbally abusive to all of us. Things started getting really bad when he started dating his girlfriend. Now he is dropping out of college. My dad was abusive toward me, but never to him, and my brother hasn't had much contact with my dad in the past 6 years, but now all of a sudden he says that none of us have done anything for him and my dad is the only one who understands him. We have given him everything, from a car, to paying the bills, to paying for his school. He's spoiled rotten and his behavior is out of control. Its gotten to the point that my mom took a leave of abcenss from work because she is having a nervous breakdown. We are looking into comitting him under a 302 for his, and our protection. Any help would be appreciated.

my grandad died in october, my dad moved to america in december and my aunt died in february and she was my best friend. i have 2 dogs and live with my mum and younger sister. when my aunt died they asked me to look after the dogs while they sorted everything out, where my aunt lived (400 miles away). after the cremation my mum told me the family had written letters and put them in the coffin as a goodbye, only nobody told so i didn't get a chance to. since my aunts funeral ive done everything i can to push everyone in my life away from me. i know when im doing it but i just cant stop. i dont want to push anyone else away but i really cant stop. x

my xhusband has just moved in w/a girl{w/2youngkids}.he moved back to town 1yr ago after leaving another girlfreind and their 2y/o child{our daughters step sister}.in the year he"s been back,he and our daughter{14y/o} have established a wonderful relationship{she only saw him 2x in the 3yrs he was gone}.he would see her all the time,call,stop over to visit her,etc..as of 3weeks ago,it all stopped,he never calls,he now says its up to her.when she calls him,he either doesnt answer the phone or says he's too busy..he has shared w/me recentley that he is trying to get his new girlfreind pregnant{they"ve known each other 8mnths}.thank god our girl doesnt know! i am watching our dayghters heart break and its killing me..yet again another girl has taken away her dad{her words}. his relationship is none of my business,but our daughters well being is. any suggestions? this is serious!

this guy i know has been waiting on the right woman for years but it hasn't happened. he loves kids. right now he is asking God to send him a child. his mother told that it doesn't work that way that it's going against God's will.
to my knowledge, he wants to get married and have kids but he would also like to be a single parent for now.
is that going against God's will if he wants to have kids before getting married?
is there something wrong with raising someone elses child?

If you split the management does one take care of all banking (paying bills deposits, etc) and another handles insurance, investing, etc? What tools does each use -- i.e. my husband loves MS Money and handles all banking / bills and I swear by Internet research / calls to manage best rates on insurance / services, etc. THANKS!
