The most prolific mother in history was a Russian peasant who had 69 children in the 18th century, 67 of which survived infancy.

Between 1725 and 1765, she endured 27 multiple births, which included 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets, and four sets of quadruplets.

The modern world record for giving birth is held by LeontinaAlbinafrom San Antonio, Chile. Now in her mid-sixties, she claims to be the mother of 64 children. Of these, 55 are documented, birth certificates apparently being something of a less-than-serious concern in Chile.

I saw a programme about the Duggar family & I believe she was on her 17th baby at the time it was shown. She had several sets of twins & is still only about 39years of age.
In other words she still has a good few child-bearing years ahead of her. Watching the programme was a bit weird because all the girls dressed like Mum & all the boys dressed like Dad - like little clones.
By the time she is about 45 & past having babies her body will be so stretched. I also wonder about the long-term damage all those pregnancies in quick succession have done to her organs.

I believe it's around 25, my mother in law had 17 pregnancies, 13 births, her first was at 13 her last when she was 32, she only stopped then because her uterus collapsed I guess due to so many pregnancies and being so young when she had her first.
