If you split the management does one take care of all banking (paying bills deposits, etc) and another handles insurance, investing, etc? What tools does each use -- i.e. my husband loves MS Money and handles all banking / bills and I swear by Internet research / calls to manage best rates on insurance / services, etc. THANKS!

both my parents work and both take care of their own financial things. but it's mostly my dad that does all that stuff, i think he has the bigger load.
dad pays the house, water, electricity, life insurance, investments, and mom pays her credit cards, takes care of food expenses(groceries) and me and my sisters needs, clothing and all of our other necessities, and her SUV payments. dad works 2 jobs, and mom works 3. i don't see my dad a lot though, even though we all live together.

I pay all the bills and handle all the money. If I would die today my husband wouldn't know what to do. He knows nothing. I have tried and tried to get him involoved and he doesn't care.

I also handle all the finances in our home. My husband has no clue and doesn't want to. If he can go to the ATM and withdraw $40 then he is happy.
