I wouldn't ever call it "compulsory" for a woman to know how to cook but certainly (me being a bit old fashioned) i am sure most men looking for that serious relationship would be looking for a woman who could cook or they may feel she wouldnt be able to look after any potential children in the future.

Its not a culture thing. As a matter of fact not only is it cool for a guy to know how to cook but its sexy. Also, there is no such thing as a perfect mate. The best thing for you to do is the go to a book store and check out the self improvement section and from that point check out the cook book section, with the picture inside.

What????? You are trying to wind women up, right?

Or you are a time traveller from the 1950s?

I feel sorry for you if you seriously think that finding a partner who can cook is so high on your list of priorities.

I have some suggestions for you:

1. Get a life. Read more widely. Open your eyes.

2. Learn to cook yourself, then you can always have the choice of home cooked meals.

And now I have to stop writing this so I can SCREEEEEEEAM!!!

The relationship is between two people. A person's cooking skill is only as important to the relationship as it is to the partner. I wouldn't think it's a deal stopper - after all there are plenty of options. (eat out, cook yourself, learn to cook together, etc.) I would think there are other things about a woman that are a lot more important - like the size of her breasts.

It is not compulsory but who wants to live on take-aways all the time. They should both be able to cook a meal.

VERY important to know how to cook. The fastest way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

Unless your arms and legs are broken, what's wrong with us wanting you to know a few survival skills. Just where it is written that cooking is solely a woman's domain? Man...you better watch your attitude with today's women.
