We've been together nearly 3 years. He makes about 50 grand a year, and so do I. We spend more on groceries every week than he spent on this ring. This is what he wants me to wear forever? It's already coroding and changing color 2 months after he proposed. Why would he do this? Does this mean it's not real to him, or am I just being superficial? Is this all I'm worth to him? Is it really possible he just doesn't get it? (He did get me a $5 wal-mart watch for our first valentie's day, and I wore it everyday because i loved him so much.)

I was with a woman for four years, we were in love, incredibly happy, things were great. Like an idiot, really I just got comfortable and all, I never married her. She said many different times that she wanted to be married and I am so upset with myself bcs. I I broke promises with her to do it varioius times. I never cheated, just didnt do it. After 4 years she broke up with me and told me she didnt trust me anymore and didnt want to waste her life waiting "for a guy who cant' commit." She moved out to the West coast (i live in Boston) and reconnected with some ex and got married 6 months later. She is now married for one year and she called me recently and told me she is not that happy, that she prob made a bad decision and that she still loves me. I told her to divorce,but she said she couldnt "risk it" bcs. she doesnt think I would commit to her. She said I could move to her city, but that there are no guarantees of anything....I love her too much, but I am so sad and confused

After paying their fair half of the bills and expense of living the life they are living. (Which in my case leave 1/3 to 1/2 my paycheck as surplus money.)

In many cases this money is pooled together and becomes "our money".
Women typically go shopping more than men, so in reality women are spending the "our money".

If women want men to do their FAIR share of the chores, what is the husband getting for his income/money, since he isn't spending it?

Am I missing something here?
What is it that husbands are paying for?
Is it for sex with the wife?
So what are husbands paying for?

A girl is asking the question
I am in college and I eat dinner with this guy once a week, sometimes it has been more. It seems like were talking about life more and more. He has been open about his past and what he has done. He said he use to be an alcholic, drugey, slept around, and general had a lot problems. And he is from a small town, and that is what people know about him there. He tells me he is changing. He still struggles. He respects my view on things and does not say anything bad about them. He is telling me he is changing. But is still known for that. Him and I have dinner at café or any other place at school. I haven’t heard bad things about him at school. But than again I am a transfer. Does he consider me a good friend?? Guys what are reasons you will tell this stuff to a girl??

.i had a question about a situatuion i had with child suppport. what i am trying to find out is how do i go about asking a judge if they can garnish some of my sons fathers VA benefits? Heres the situation: in 2005 i had taken my sons father off of child support with the agreement he would pay it directly to me($100 per month) since i had a decent paying job @ the time. He was doing ok with the monthly payments w/ the exception of a few missed payments. But since he has gotten off of probation he moved to another state (Mississippi) since he has move he has not paid a dime. i no for a fact that he recieves money monthly and have been for acouple of yrs:he recievs 2,415 per month from the Va and 400 per month from the state of Md (and he doesnt even live here anymore) recently i reapplied for childsuppt. the thing is when we went to court the first time he wasnt recieving any income and the court ordered him to pay 100 monthly but now he recieves 2,800 per month- so i believe i should

I had a normal childhood. Occasionally, I'd have fights with my siblings, or misbehave and get grounded, but I think that generally, we were a loving normal family.
I have been dating my boyfriend for about three months now, and he came from a very close-knit and affectionate family. He and his siblings were raised to be comfortable walking around the house without clothing, and they hug and cuddle a lot more than I am used to. His parents are very wonderful people, but whenever I visit for dinner or family functions, I feel uncomfortable.
They don't try to pressure me into taking my clothes off, but they will all sit around the table with no shirt or pants. I was just starting to get used to it when, last night, we were sitting on the couch watching a movie, and his father started giving me a back rub.
I know it's just a friendly back rub, but I feel weird being that physical with an older naked man. Can I express my own personal boundaries without offending them?

why do women in this forum make it seem like even *wanting* a bridal shower is a really bad thing? almost every bride wants a shower...

my sister is my maid of honor and she has no clue what to do, she's only 21 and has never even been to a wedding before. so she asked me what her duties are and I told her what they are including the hosting the shower. so she hosted it and was totally happy to do so. i was a little more involved in the planning of my own shower than is "normal" by ettiquette standards, she didn't know my bridesmaids and felt stupid not knowing anything about weddings, so she asked me EVERYTHING.

i think if someone is your maid of honor and you can't say to them "i want a bridal shower" then maybe they shouldn't be your maid of honor...

I met this guy out of town, we had a great connection, talked for awhile....then we kissed. I really liked him alot. Later his friend told me that he was married. I was furious and I wanted revenge, but did not have the slightest idea of how to get in touch with his wife. So I decided to keep talking to him, I listened when he told me how horrible his marriage was and I tried to give him advice, I did not mess around with him anymore but I talked to him on the phone alot. Just as I suspected, his wife found the phone bill and is pissed at him. Now I feel guilty. I have been cheated on in the past and the fact that he tried to play me and make a cheater out of me really pissed me off, so I figured that his infidelity should be made a little more obvious. Once he was caught I stopped speaking to him. I felt so badly about kissing him, and I thought that if he was not caught with me he would just do it again....

My husband finally agreed to marriage counseling after the mother of all fights the other night. We have only been married a year, and have a nine month old baby. We have been together for 6 years total. I am 28 he is 30. We have financial stress constantly and I believe thats why we fight, we both work. He has been very cold and disrespectful lately, and before the baby gets big enough to understand this I want to put a stop to it, I love him very much. There are no infidelity issues. Anyone have a positive experience from counseling, we start next week and need to know what to expect.

his mom says he can call me "step" cuz "he only has one mama".....i tell him you only have one stepmama no matter what his mom says......meanwhile his dad tells him to call me mommy if he wants, i say no.......this babymama drama is driving me crazy.
