I am getting married next year, and trying to cut costs as much as possible, so I am not hiring a wedding planner and am trying to plan it all by myself on a limited budget. I own my own consulting business and I work a full time desk job, so I don't have a whole lot of time to sit down and spend on this wedding. Any ideas on how to make it cheap and simple for me?

Here's the deal. My 9 yr old daughter was asked to be a Jr. Bridesmaid at the wedding of our neighbors. When they asked us they has said not to worry about the cost of the dress. A few weeks later she mentioned that the dress she picked would be about $60 but no to worry about it. A few months pass and she brings up the dress again. This time she informs me that she needs the down payment of $80.00 by end of the month and that the dress was now costing
$ 189.00. Now from the very start we had told her that we could not afford to buy an expensive dress that our daughter would only wear once. We keep telling her this, but she doesn't seem to listen. But regardless of all of that, I thought that etiquette dictated that the family of the bride took care of the dresses for the wedding party. Does anyone know when asked to be part of the wedding party who is responsible for purchasing the attire????

My husbands family are very critizing and have the better than you snobby *** attuides.They are always looking down on our home,the way we raise our child,even the way that we shop,(more or less where we shop),and our friends.Anyway,I could not tell you how many times I have cried over her comments.My family whom are not so well off love my husband and would never critize anything(unless we were doing something horriable bad)I grew up in a very loving none judgement home.I can't tell with the way his family is.What would you do?

My boyfriend and I have been together for over two years now. He used to be affectionate with me but he isn't anymore. Last night I started to softly rub his arm and he pushed my hand away. He claims that he loves me very much and can't imagine a life without us together but his actions seem to say otherwise. Sometimes I think he just wants to be with me out of fear of being alone or fear that I will move on. I just don't understand why he doesn't want to show me affection aside from sex. I love him very much I enjoy giving him affection, so why doesn't he do the same. I could understand if he only did it occasionally but he hardly ever does. Help! What do I do and what does this mean?

We live together but only see each other for a hour or two a day. And I have brought this to his attention before. He said he understood, didn't want to be that way, and would work on it but he hasn't.

My husband and I are going through a seperation. He is living in the home we bought and I have moved out. He wants joint custody of our child. But he is having a stranger move in. He placed several ads and does not even know the person moving in. We have not decided on custody arrangements for our child yet. Does anyone not agree that I should go for sole custody? I cannot stand the thought of my child sleeping in a home with a complete stranger. Who knows what their background is! Please help!

I am ashamed cuz I am going thru my 3rd divorce and feel that no one will ever want me cuz of it. I've got my faults, but tend to pick abusive men & now it's been over a year since I've been with my soon to be ex and feel as if everyone will run the other way. I am seeing a counsellor, trying to make sure the next person is right for me, but I feel like a total failure. I just want a normal relationship. I know some of you will probably think it's better to be alone, but it's not human nature to want that. I have been very lonely and at times have considered trying to stop the divorce, but I know that I can't do that to my children anymore. I started dating someone and he told me last night that his family and friends mentioned how scary, she has been divorced 3 times... I haven't stopped crying about it... I am 44 and feel like such a failure... I just want to be loved and not hit or verbally abused.

I have a 3 year realationship with a woman with kids , but she still lives with her husbant ,iven if they don't actually have a life together, meening they not intimate 2 years now or more.

How many times have we seen some guy run into a church at the last minute and proclaim his love for the bride, who then proceeds to run off with him?

Why is this so one-sided? Just once couldn't a woman run in and do the same for the groom? It would only be fair.

Need help! Signed a PSA that gives EVERYTHING to the ex. Child Support and Spousal Support leave me with 41.67/month to live on, after taxes. Per state guidelines, I am paying 700 more a month in child support and she is not even eligible for spousal. Yet, I cannot find any info on cases that have had this reversed, without proving duress, unconsciable or the such. I signed it, because I believed her when she said it was only for 6 months and would be re-worked when we had new jobs - shame on me. My lawyer basically told me to suck it up and pay it and hopefully get a better paying job at some point, as the court would not overturn a signed PSA...

A woman in a committed relationship may sometimes french kiss, feel up, and do even more with another woman (usually one of her girl friends). She will see this behavior as acceptable, but refuses to consider allowing her partner to do the same thing with other girls.

I have often heard women admit that it is a double standard but it makes sense to them, and that's just the way it is.

I would really like to know a logical answer to this question.

I would also like to know if there is a way to level things where both parties feel like it is fair.

Any ideas?
