my bf and i were discussing random topics. we started off talking about the future and he asked a lot of q's that made me think he sees us married. Then the topics changed to controversial issues and we both stated our opinions; but our views didn't agree. he's allowed to have his viewpoint, but i was upset when he put me down, "you can't disagree because you don't understand this bla bla." It made me feel bad that i wasn't on his intellectual level, but he didn't have to be demeaning about it. after sleeping on it for a night; i was still upset the next morning and i told him he was mean the night before. i couldn't help it, but i started to tear. he hugged and kissed me and apologized but i was still upset. i didnt realize it, but after i stopped crying, i noticed he was crying. i thought he was making fun of me, but then i realized. he was really crying, hiding under the blanket so i wouldn't notice. he said he cried because i was crying. i didn't realize my crying would hurt him.

my bf and I were talking about x-mas yesterday and he asked what are we going to do about x-mas. He said he thinks we should set an amount to spend on eachother and not go over. Well, I think thats a fine idea, cause I tend to go overboard when it comes to buying presents but what should the limit be?? If I suggest too high, he will feel cheap to suggest lower if I suggest too low, he will think I dont want to spend much on him! We both make a decent living, so I wouldnt mind $200! but he might think thats too much! How do you address an issue like this? This is something you cant just -not- talk about, or beat around the bush!

I was in a relasionship for a year with a girl I really loved.
Since we broke up (her decision), I have never been able to open up again.

3 years later we got together again, and I felt like I was given another chance for happiness. It took less than a week for me to realize that I was still hanging on to the past, and that I didn't want to be with the person she had become. I felt nothing for her.

I have since been in a relasionship with a girl I really care about, but feel nothing for emotionally. It been 3 years.

I dont want to waste any more of her time, but I cant seem to break it off (permanantly).

Will I always hang on to what I had in the past.

Can you really get over it?

I'm a guy who's cursed with being quite emotional. I get choked and tearful even watching sad films/programmes.

I'm getting married next year and don't want to be a blubbering mess during the vows.

While I don't want to be completly un-emotional at our wedding, I'm after some ideas on how I can overcome this? Is there any medication I can take?

We have different views on what is acceptable for our 8 year old to do and not to do. I get upset when he lets her watch things like King Kong and X-Men 3. He says that it is fine. How can I get him to see that this stuff bothers me, and that it is not ok for our 8 year old to watch?

I started talking to her in August after several emails through myspace. We had a really long talk that first night and had so mnay things in common that we scared each other. a couple of weeks later after talking on the phone almost every night and text messaging each other, we started to realize we had deeper feelings. I felt it about the same time as her but was afraid to say anything too soon since we had not even seen each other yet. One night she almost told me what she felt for me and I stopped her before she did and told her I loved her and she said she loved me back. That was over a month ago. It was good for awhile, talking about seeing each other and always keeping in communication but after a couple of weeks, I started to hear less and less. I know I am being paranoid, but I call her (not too many times I think) and I usually dont get a call back or if I do, it's like a 20 minute conversation. She says she loves me, but should I be concerned?

You know how people say if you're afraid of your loved one cheating/lying/hurting you, it's b/c you don't trust your own self? I hate that! I trust every part of myself! How can I get over this? I need to just trust him.....how can I tell him that I DO TRUST MYSELF 100%, I'm just afraid of getting hurt, so I'm being a little cautious when it comes to letting that wall down...it has nothing to do with me not trusting myself, at all!

I went through a difficult breakup with my baby's father 4 years ago but have managed to get along teh greatest with his family (sisters, uncels parents etc.) We broke up because he wanted to be with other people when in reality he was cheating on me behind my back with this other girl who knew i was pregnant by him but didn't care. Soon after i got pregnant and was about 2 months- she purposely got pregnant. Funny thing is that my kid was born in Jan 03 and her girl wasborn March 03 and no one in the family didn't even know she was pregnant not even his parents. Point is- she broke up my relationship with him or what could have been and she's no even wtih him now.. Because of all the dramam he created his family feels like they owe me an apology on for his behavior and for having me dropped off at my mom's when i was 6 months and telling me to call him when the baby was born. So- i moved on now and my new Boyfriend of 3 1/2 years is uncomfortable that i come over their house
