Right now I own a Kodak EasyShare DX7590. It's big. I love the 10x zoom on it, but the thing is MASSIVE. I need a smaller camera that allows for those lovely hold the camera over the head drunken club photos (I am a college kid, don't judge). I don't mind giving up some zoom, but I am not willing to go lower than 5x zoom. I would like something with more mp, at least 7mp. I am looking for a camera with really good macro capabilities ( I like to get real close) and GREAT image quality. A viewfinder isn't necessary but is a very huge plus.

I am looking for answers from people who KNOW THEIR STUFF, not just telling me that one camera is prettier than another.

And of course, I'm on a budget. I don't want to spend more then $350 at the absolute most.

I see a smudge when I shoot against a blue sky. It is my understanding you can clean this off, but I don't want to break anything trying.

I'm about to purchase the 400d and a lot of reviews (and word of mouth) said I should just buy the body and the lens separate. So, what brand and type of lens should I look for? I want something for pretty much universal pictures, I don't have a need for extreme zoom or landscapes. I have a budget of about $100-$400, if I absolutely have to go that high.

I've used digital cameras many times, but I've never owned one personally. My price range is between $200-$300. I wouldn't want to go much higher than 300. What's the best camera that I can get in my price range?

Im looking to buy a new digital camera (last one was stolen) and I need to stay below $200 (a lot of stuff has to be replaced). The single most important thing is picture quality. I can handle a complicated camera, or one that is a little larger (although fitting in my pocket would be ideal of course). Ive seen a few at best buy from sony, casio, panasonic, nikon etc. and all the stated features are about the same. 7.2mp, 3x optical zoom, iso1000 etc. So which brands, or ideally cameras, are the best in the sub $200 range. And which features are must-have?

A friend of mine will not purchase a digital camera since they believe that film is superior to digital for long-term storage. I assumed that film was just as susceptible, if not more, to damage as digital storage devices such as CDs, memory cards, computer hard drives, etc.. However, digital storage allows for redundancies in the your storage (eg. print images, store on CD, and store on computer).

What brand would you recommend?
How many mega-pixels would be sufficient?

I am getting into photography and I really like the looks of the Canon A560, it's VERY affordable (I can get it for $140 from a large retailer) and it looks like it sports a variety of features including face recognition, and several scene modes. The question I have though, is whether or not you can manually control the Aperture and Shutter Speed Settings. I can't seem to find any site that gives that information. Also I would like to hear from owners of this camera how it performs under a variety of conditions, such as low light, bright light. How is the macro setting? Does it do well with moving subjects? Thanks for your time and I appreciate your answers. :)

Shalom

I am starting a new photography business and am so confused about which camera to buy. I want a Canon. I am trying to decide between the Rebel XTi or the 30 D. And I want to know about lens. I am going to be shooting photos of people and family shots. Which is the best lens and will give me all around performance? I want a lens that will let me do good close ups and all around pictures. What about the 18-55 lens that comes with the kits?

I got a peice of dust stuck on the inside of my digital camera lense and it shows up as a spec in many of the photographs i take. Is there anyway to remove this peice of dust safely on my own or are there any national camera chains that can clean the inside of a camera lense without costing me an arm and a leg? by the way the camera i am reffering to is just a point and shoot sony cybershot.

My first choice was the Canon Digital Rebel Xti but I have not yet saved enough money for it. And there's a sale and my second choice the Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xt is now affordable for me. It comes with a 18-55mm lens ( Note that this would be my first Reflex camera and I don't know much about lenses)

So should I buy the Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xt now or wait till I have enough money for the Canon Digital Rebel Xti?

Can I view things on the screen before I shoot? (What's the point of an LCD screen if you have to use the viewfinder?) Is there digital zoom? Can anything be saved without a memory card? I don't get why it lacks so many things a cheap digital camera would have but it costs so much!
