The first thing you should do is sit down and decide what you want to do with photography. If you're a first-time buyer thinking about photography as a hobby you might want to try a digicam first. If you've outgrown your current digicam or you're switching from film to digital then you probably want a DSLR. Its easy to over-buy as well as under-buy.

I don't think there is a Best. Consider Fuji, Canon and Sony.
