I'd pass on the Canon and Nikon DSLRs since they do not address the issue of image stabilization/vibration reduction. Sony does offer image stabilization built into certain DSLR bodies. Nevertheless the far more reasonable and best image stabilization camera systems is offered by Pentax in the KD series beginning with the Pentax K100D DSLR starting at $450.00. Again, the overall Pentax lense system is award winning and very affordable.

Good luck!

I have been using the Canon 350D for the past two years and I love it. It is soooo user friendly and my only headache now is whether to upgrade to the Canon 400D..... Either way, I am sticking with Canon. Another good camera though if you want a choice is the Nikon D40x. Great reviews but its a matter of choice. In my opinion the Canon 400D is definitely a better camera though. Good Luck :-)

Canon or Nikon. They are both excellent.

Once you chose, you will be building up more in accessories than the camera cost, so make you you look at the accessories first!

I agree with vicSEO about checking into the Pentax line. The latest one, the K10D, has 10 megapixels and Image Stabilization in the body. Plus it accepts all previous Pentax K-mount lenses, giving you access to all that great glass from their film days.
