Okay, thanks for the tips about the differences between digital DSLR sand SLRs. It seems the SLRs are better for what I want. But here's the thing, I like my LCD screen sometimes when I'm taking pictures (instead of just viewing pictures that have already been taken) and I think I've gotten use to having manuel zoom. With this said, let me say that I am by no means looking to be a professional photographer. I'm just a regular person who loves to take pictures and I want to take pictures that are worth keeping. And most importatly, I want to take still shots from action scenes. Basically my question is... are there digitals DSLRs that can take upper quality action shots?? M price range is somewhere under $1,000ish. Don't be shy if it goes over, I'm flexible. Size isn't an issue either. Thanks.

Currently, I have a Kodak Z710. I would like to upgrade to a nice camera with removable lens. I don't get paid to take pictures, but I do enter a lot of contests at fairs and such. I would actually like to take up photography as a career, so I would use it a lot, also be putting the pictures on a lap top to photoshop. What are some good cameras that are under $1,500? Also, what are some good sites that have tips for photography settings and such and photoshopping?

I am looking to get a 72mm Hoya filter for my Canon 28-135 IS USM lens that I use on my Canon Rebel XT. Have you used one before, if so, what is your opinion on them? I am looking for an affordable filter, and don't want to spend over $100... this seems to be for me but want to get a users opinion of them first.

PS-- I have looked at both the standard and the Pro-1 and am leaning to the Pro-1

I am looking to buy a point and shoot camera for fun pictures with my friends. However, I am also going into graphic design and what a good quality picture. I definetely dont want to spend more then $200 on the camera alone (whithout buying the memory card, case, etc.). I also love the feature that allows you to just have a certain color stand out and have the rest of the pic black and white. What specific feature (the name of it) allows that on a camera? I have been looking at reviews of cameras and specifics and features but i dont know what im really looking for, since it doesn't clearly state that it does it. Also, if you have a suggestion on a certain camera let me know! Please help me! Thanks!

I recently bought this camera used, and if the information given to me is correct, then it was only used once. When I put the battery in the charger, the light flashes red, but after 24 hours it's still flashing. Help?

I have a pink Polaroid i533 digital camera but I can't find my USB cable anywhere. I was wondering if I could go to a store like Best Buy and buy a standard cable for it or if i have to order it from Polaroid which would take much longer. Also, I see a few on Ebay for the i633 and i733. Does anyone know if Polaroid uses the same USB cable for these models as well as the i533.
Thanks in advance!

Either a Canon EOS 5d or a Nikon D80/200
Which brand would you reccomend?
And also for a digital camera a Canon SD-630.
Is that a good camera?

(On-line) only to find there's no memory card with it. Is this usual with cameras, and what can I expect to have to pay for one?

When I plug the camera into my laptop, it shows me the photos on the memory card and also an XML document called WMPInfo (??) but when the camera is not plugged into the laptop I can see there are about 10 photos on the camera that are not coming up when I plug it in!! (Sometimes when I turn on my camera it accesses the memory card, and sometimes it just accesses the 10 or so photos on the camera itself)

I've been looking at Nikon. Are they any good? Here's the thing, I want something with a good megapixal and mainly, I want a camera that will take still pictures from an active. I want it to do so good that I can wave my hand in front of it and it take a still picture (If that's possible.) Zoom is important to me too but I will take less of that for better pictures. Like I said, I've been looking at the Nikon, but if you have other suggestions, please ... feel free to say so. Thank you guys so much.

I am thinking of getting a digital camera that comes with a 1 GB SD card for $110. I was wondering if its a good deal and also how many pictures i could take using the 1 GB SD card. For example a 4"x6" picture...about how much space would that use on the card. Here is the link to the camera-

My Pentax Optio T20 camera was working fine, and I used it to take well over 2,000 photographs before one night it suddenly wouldn't function properly anymore. When I press the power button, the lens goes out and the start-up screen shows, but then it makes a weird noise and the lens goes back in and the camera shuts off. I don't know what is wrong and nothing happened to it, and I don't want to have to deal with costly repairs. Thanks for your help.

I have a canon s2 IS and we bought it before my son was born 8 months ago. I still don't know how to use it and the pics always come out blurry. The manual is way over my head and I feel really bad that I have this great camera and my pics come out so bad. Anyone have a way that they can give me the canon s2 is for dummies version? What should the settings be?!?!?

First place I shot for is dpreview.com or Steve's Digicams. In either case the Fuji S700 is not there. Can't find it under Fujifilm. Any Website that has all specs of cameras?
The Fuji S700 is a camera my friend just bought.

I purchased Photo Explosion and I hate it. I'm an amateur and don't want to spend more than $100 on software, but there are so many packages out there that I'm lost on which to purchase.

Currently, I take photos of nature. I'm not sure if this matters.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!!!

I'm starting a photography course in September and am currently saving loads of money as I will need a SLR camera within the first few months of me starting. I have been told that my tutor will advise me about what I will need but I just wanted some advice on what sort of camera I would be looking at. I am studying mainly traditional methods etc. and would eventually like to photograph pets. Can anyone give some idea of the best sorts of camera? 35mm or digital? and do you have any suggestions on a good quality camera?

Thanks!
