My Pentax Optio T20 camera was working fine, and I used it to take well over 2,000 photographs before one night it suddenly wouldn't function properly anymore. When I press the power button, the lens goes out and the start-up screen shows, but then it makes a weird noise and the lens goes back in and the camera shuts off. I don't know what is wrong and nothing happened to it, and I don't want to have to deal with costly repairs. Thanks for your help.

Are the batteries fully charged?

Is it still under warranty?

It sounds as though it needs a trip to a repair center. You may find that repairing it will cost more than its worth.

I believe Hondo with regard to the reminiscence card reader. I even have 2 Canon cameras and function under no circumstances used the disks or cords that got here with them For my little digital camera, I insert the cardboard into the reader in my computing gadget to function my %.. And for my great Canon i offered a card reader as my computing gadget won't accommodate a CF card. only plug the reader right into a USB port on your laptop and then insert the cardboard into the reader. lots extra handy and faster than connecting your digital camera on your laptop. And it won't run your digital camera battery down the two.
