Either a Canon EOS 5d or a Nikon D80/200
Which brand would you reccomend?
And also for a digital camera a Canon SD-630.
Is that a good camera?

Canon and Nikon are both good choices.

While you're comparing, you might want to look at the latest from Pentax, the K10D. This is a 10 megapixel camera with Image Stabilization in the body. It also accepts all Pentax K-mount lenses dating back to ones designed for the original K-1000 film camera. You'll have to use manual focus but you have access to a lot of quality glass. You can see a review of the camera in the Aug. 2007 Shutterbug magazine or on line at shutterbug.com.

all 3 are good
go for the one you like

I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras and learn as much as they can from the internet.
Go to the store and hold them and try them to see what they feel like and how they take pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
Good Luck

my suggestion
go to yahoo shopping
