(On-line) only to find there's no memory card with it. Is this usual with cameras, and what can I expect to have to pay for one?

Sorry - I should have said, I'm in the UK.

It is not unusual for this to happen when purchasing on -line,your local photographic retailer will probably stock a memory card that is suitable for your camera or try "Misco" an on line co, they are very good and I would recomend them as I have used them myself cards can cost £5 -£30, depending on what you want.Give them a try. That's if you live in U.K.

Yes this is typical. The camera usually comes with a card that only holds 3-5 pix, or at least mine did. I paid about $30-40 for a card. But that was around Christmas and the store had sales on everything. Shouldn't be much more than that, though.
I have the C653 and I just love it! The Easyshares are extremely simple to use.

yeah its pretty usual now i mean where i work the camera only comes with a battery, battery charger, and a 16 mega bite memory card which only hold up to 10 pictures everything else is not included so i guess online the memory card was not included just go to ur nearest retail store look for the SD memory cards cause thats what ur camera needs they are around 20-60 dollars depending how many GB's u want a 1 GB could hold up to around more then 200 pictures and its only 15-20 dollars a 2GB holds twice the size of that and its 30-40 dollars and then it keeps going up

When i bought my Easyshare camera there wasn't a card,so i had to buy one....that was a couple of years ago,but i actually bought a card off the internet last week, for just over £10 inc pp,and it is identical to my other card.
I have had three Easyshare camera's and i can honestly say that i love them, they're easy to use and even the pics come out in great quality.

It depends on the brand. When we bought are canon powershot, it came together with a 32MB flash card. Canon digicams usually don't have internal memory.
May be if the digicam have internal memory, it does not come with a free memory card.
Then you have to buy one too.
May be you can check out the other online sites which sells the same camera if memory card comes with the package.

the "clues" are hidden in that secret e book that got here with the digicam! ensure to study it and you will discover the answer in the 1st few pages. probably after the e book tells you the thank you to place in the batteries. The call SanDisk or Lextar would not make any difference, it is the "letter" designation on the playing cards. SDHC is the designation you're searching for.
