The Sept. 2007 issue of Shutterbug magazine has a review of five 10 megapixel digicams. You can also read it at shutterbug.com. The overall "winner" appears to be the Canon PowerShot G7. Estimated cost is $469.00 US but careful shopping should find it cheaper.

My camera. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2. 12X optical zoom, 6 megapixels, manual controls in addition to auto, has image stabilizer, is very good on AA recharbeables, and comes with battery charger. Will give you excellent 8x10, acceptable 11X14 print. Even has viewfinder.

Im not an expert at cameras, but if you find some that fit your range, a Canon is always good. Theire customer service is great and if you have a problem with it, you can either have it fixed for around 80 bucks or for around 85, they can upgrade your camera with their loyalty program. Just a friendly FYI.

It has got to be the Nikon P5000, it zooms, it stabilizes and is 10mp Loads of choice for taking superb photos.
