Some months ago, I bought, intalled then disinstalled Zone Alarm because it slows down so much my computer. Now, fearing viruses, I re-installed it again. What a pain? Everything takes ages before popping-up. Is it normal to get slow down with anti-virus, firewall and other protective software? Is Zone Alarm worst than McAfee and Norton for that matter? (slowwww)

I just bought the norton antivirus 2007 a couple of days ago and tried to install it but it hasent done anything nothings poped up. So i tried to take the disk out and try it again but now it tells me that its trying to install to "please wait" does anyone know if it takes days for it to install I've never done this before and dont know if i did sumthing wrong...

my mom has a small business and someone put a virus in her computer. she wants to get rid of the internet and go manual receipts.

but were thinking that maybe if we just get rid of the internet we wont get virus's?

before when i downloaded a windows update in filefront i think.... or windows website....it did this

this is my story
when i finished downloading the update it says it needs to restart my pc so then i followed i restarted it (MY COMPUTER DOESNT HAVE A PASSWORD)after restarting loading my account.... this thing happend.... my account suddenlly had a password which i cant guess or bypass it!!!

this happened to me 2 Times
1 time from filefront
1 time from Windows Update

how to avoid this??

i dont want my computer to be outdated
my os is =xp sp2


plss tell me more info....

whenever i open internet a dilog box will open with message that my computer has track **** files and it needs to clean drive and whenever i click on to install drive cleaner my AVAST ANTI VIRUS software warn me that a virus has been found and i need to do as recommended by avast.
the fact is that i am not able to download the drive cleaner to get rid of the compromising files

Well I turned on my computer and popups appeared. I pressed X on all of them. So I waited for Firefox to work and when fire fox opened its home page..Sounds just started playing! It was like some random people talking and laughing or whatever. And I pressed Ctrl + alt + delete and no Internet browser was on except fire fox's home page..Can anyone help me out? It's really annoying and kinda creepy. Is this a virus or program? If so can anyone tell me how to delete it? Ill give 10 points.

i mean because it would be extremely easy for whoever is selling the computer to put some kind of virus or worm or spyware or something on there.

maybe if you bought it and then did a clean install of the OS?

second question: do you get a good value when buying a computer off ebay?

i was in this website & my antivirus, w/c is already expired, notified me that this site has phishing capability & warned me to block from browsing. Out of curiousity, I entered the site & there was a message there that it is hacked. Is my computer invaded? I know im a risk taker but im worried now what will happen. What should i do aside from updating my antivirus software to get rid of the hacker if he really hacked me. Thanks, I will surely appreaciate your answers & info.

Hey im trying to translate letters and numbers in to hex code. I dont know anything about it but I am trying to enter a wireless network where the wep password is the same as the network name (kernowstore2) in hex code!
Any help on how on earth I do this your answers will be hugely appreciated!

3 times now Norton Anti-virus has alerted me that it has blocked a worm. It says it is a medium risk, and it has something to do with googletoolbar.query something or other.

What kind of worm is this, and why am I being targeted? Is there something I need to do?
