Buy legal copies of the movies instead.
You won't be at risk of prosecution, you'll reduce your risk of virus infedction, and you'll get higher quality movies to watch.
(Oh, and its not possible to say how to disable a firewall without know what firewall it is in the first place).

Beware of downloading copyright movies off the internet. If you are merely downloading a movie that a friend made, then OK. Somewhere in your firewall software, there may be a menu that allows you to see the status of programs on the computer, whether they are blocked from access to the internet for instance. Find Limewire on this list and look for an option that allows you to 'Allow Full Access' Mine does, I have McAfee Firewall Plus. Also, beware of virus's when using P2P software. Make sure your Anti-virus software is turned on, up to date, and do a scan of the computer every day, as a precaution! Hope all this helps!

What kind of firewall? You can put limewire on the trusted zone.
If you talk about Windows firewall, you can go to START/CONTROL PANEL,and when the windows open click on firewall icon.
A new window will open, click o exclusion TAB on top, then click on the ADD button in the midle, and type the program you want to exclude, in our case limewire.
If you use any other kind of firewall see it's help, on how to allow programs to act as a server.(exclude programsfrom blocking)
If you had written here the Firewall you use I could be more specific.
Good Luck

Setup an exception for limewire in the firewall. Could have been more helpful if you said which firewall you are using.

you can check the firewall settings and when you are ready to download the movie turn it off. The same thing happened to my friend and he did this.

hi.
if you are doing it from school computer you will be busted.
if you're at home its another story, don't get rid of firewall, I suppose limewire has configuration or setting mode. use "Passive mode" if you have firewall turn on.

Brian ... i've got constantly reported, "instruct me somebody who makes a habit of downloading much less costly, fuzzy-finding unlawful copies of action pictures, and that i will instruct you a guy or woman who'd probable pass to a Seven-11 to purchase high-quality rings." purchase your video clips like a guy and very own them constantly. How long do you think of Hollywood could be waiting to make large video clips if all of us concept such as you do? save on and a few day the only video clips you would be waiting to work out could be the domicile-made type you spot on YouTube. there's a clarification why they're loose; reason they are not worth something, that's why. Come on, Brian ... you're smarter than that, are not you?

Depends which firewall it is. There should be an "exception" section that allows you to choose what, and what not, to filter.
