This file was inside my logitech mouse folder, supposedly used in the media functions of my mouse and keyboard. my firewall has stopped it accessing the internet. why would it need to send information over the net? is it a virus or does it normally send info?

I have run norton and antivir, and here is the problem. three tojans could not be removed:

TR/Didr.IstBar.ER
TR/Didr.INSer.13824
TR/Drop.Silly.C.1

the biggest problem that I have is that one of those or all of those are affecting my system in a way that i have no access to my system anymore. i cannot go into control panel, i can't even remove hardware safely, cannot view my cookies,... no nothing! i keep getting the message to ask a system administrator because i have no access. hello-o!!! i AM the system administrator!!!

i feel kinda helpless. so, if anyone has any idea what so ever, please, please, please let me know.

I'm not doing anything bad, like looking at porn or anything, I just don't want the IT guys to know all about my personal life. There's really no way for them to see the site I visit without looking at my computer, right?

I am going to start a web business and hire some developers eventually, but I am planning ahead and trying to figure out all the software/hardware they'll need. One thing that I have noticed is its extremely important to secure the deletion of files - especially since they will be using laptops (which can be stolen).

I have used hard drive scrubbers before to prepare to sell a PC on ebay, but our company will be Mac based. What are the best and most trusted for Macs?

Any additional information on business security are appreciated too.

I've found after having Norton on my laptop for about 6 months, that it's got gradually slower. Is this something that Norton causes, or is it just my laptop?

I am not able to turn on windows firewall
many times i try it
when I turn it on then after in a half secand its turn off autometecaly I do not know who turn off it ??I scanrd my computer with norton security scan & also with spyware doctor
but thy arent able to detect any virus there

i have a linksys router and also i have windows firewall on only
allowing frostwire and instant message exceptions. I dont use
other firewalls because they are a big hassle, and i use avast
for viruses , avg anti rootkit, and cyber defender and spysweeper for spyware. is that good enough.

I have regular pop ups saying my computer has trojan 32 a virus I have been told...I phoned up my computer supplier, he advised me to download ewido, I have done 3 scans, and I am informed all viruses have been removed, however I still get the pop ups every few minutes, I am getting a little annoyed, can anybody help me..

i'hve come across a site that was created by some people and is targeting another rather large group of people and some of it's content is pretty horrible....the last time i visited the site there were pictures uploaded of the said group and there were really degrading things up there on the site.....does'nt sound so bad maybe but it really really is since i recognize a couple of the people and its just infuriating.Their pictures should'nt be on there!!.... how can i report this or get the site shut down??

Can someone tell me how to find out what various abbreviations for certain programs are that are found in the start-up section from msconfig? I have a lot of items checked off in that section that start up automatically (Windows XP), and I'm sure I can disable many of them, but I want to know what they are before I disable them. How do I find out what those programs are - without "trial and error"?

what if they arranged with some major websites that always get hits like google, etc. and the anti virus software makers to exclude their virus from the list of ones that are caught. couldnt they then use those popular sites to install the keylogger or surveillance virus onto your computer and you wouldnt ever know about it?

how credible do you think this is? any flaws?
