This file was inside my logitech mouse folder, supposedly used in the media functions of my mouse and keyboard. my firewall has stopped it accessing the internet. why would it need to send information over the net? is it a virus or does it normally send info?

Can't imagine why it would need to access the internet - are you sure the hookdll.dll that was accessing the net was the one in the logitech folder? Because there is a keylogger trojan that drops a file by that name into your system32 folder.

Runtime or dll errors are related to your registry. When Windows loads it searches your registry for proper software configuration. If one of the files in the registry is corrupted or cant be found, you will get a rundll error. Scan your registry and see if you can pull up the error in question. If so use the registry cleaner to fix it. Hope this helps!
