I have run AVG Anti virus software and it has quarantined and deleted it but it keeps coming back. Is there anything else I can do to get rid of it before I resort to re installing windows?

Is it safe to open unknown e-mails as long as you don’t open the attachments? If I open it just to see what it say, am I at risk or is it just when you open the attachment?

Since the first of June, when I called them and told them to DC my service, they keep deducting from my checking account. I have again, repeatedly, called, e-mailed etc. and they refuse to go away. That is Peoplepc.com.
I have another ISP since I moved and like it so much better but, somehow there has to be a way to get these people out of my life. Thanks! E-mail me @ geri_stimpak@yahoo.com

I have AVS antivirus which has now informed me that the licence has expired. It won't let me update or renew the licence. I've tried to uninstall it in order to download Avast antivirus but little blurb says "You must close AVS before you can uninstall".

Can anyone please tell me how to close it so that I can safely remove it.

Thank you.

I am running a trial version of ZA antivirus, and have two main problems.

First, it will only allow network access if programme control is set to the less secure 'auto learn'. Once connected I can increase this to 'Max' but after a time it will drop the connection. I tried adding my ISP to the trusted network but it had no effect.

Second, the number of trial days left decreases with each reboot. It started off on 12 days (not 15) and after an hour I rebooted and it is now down to 11 days. No 24 hour period had elapsed, and my time and date settings are correct.

Thanks for any help or advice you may have.

i mean here in the philippines, everytime the government have a press release that the economy is doing well, that gdp is growing as fast as it could, big businessmen also say the same, but whenever the people ask for a salary raise, their enthusiastic tone will quickly turn into an excuse and will say that the government is lacking funds to raise wages, the businessmen threathens that it will close the company if people or workers pursue higher wages...... what is happening? i dont understand... my mind is telling me that the growth of gdp only benefits the pocket of those people who have big businesses and to the corrupt people in government.... aside from that they raise the value of pesos, from 55 pesos per one US dollar to 45 per dollar, people initially thinks that the buying power of domestic currency will increase but reverse effects are happening prices are still going very high specially the gasoline prices. They asked me for my subscription number and everything. I even had to give the rep my address. Would they lie to me? They said it would come by September 10th. If they lied, that rep would be fired right? The rep said I was only eligible because my Norton Internet Security subscription was still valid. I went to the Symantec Chat Support room.

Hiya.I've just changed over to BT Total broadband option 3 & i couldn't be happier.I've got the Norton Security package as part of the deal - it has anti-virus, antispyware & the firewall all included.I'm also running the latest version of Ad-aware.
I had Spybot S&D & Superantispyware running as well but the BT guy who installed my broadband uninstalled these 2.Apparently Norton running with these can cause conflict & aren't needed.
My Q is - is this enough protection online that will allow online, shopping, surfing etc safely? Or do i need other security software downloaded to add to this? If so can you recommend something suitable to a newbie? Many thanks Jackie.
