I am running a trial version of ZA antivirus, and have two main problems.

First, it will only allow network access if programme control is set to the less secure 'auto learn'. Once connected I can increase this to 'Max' but after a time it will drop the connection. I tried adding my ISP to the trusted network but it had no effect.

Second, the number of trial days left decreases with each reboot. It started off on 12 days (not 15) and after an hour I rebooted and it is now down to 11 days. No 24 hour period had elapsed, and my time and date settings are correct.

Thanks for any help or advice you may have.

Thanks for the prompt replies. Adjusting the system date manually to the previous date causes the licence key to go back a date. Thus the problem is with ZA not recognising the system clock. May be due to UAC in vista?

Second, yes AVG and ZA free work well but not convinced at the level of protection they offer.

Third, NAV 2008 is great but does not scan incoming emails. Tech support were useless.

Fourth, the reason for chosing ZA with antivirus is that offers good AV detection and a solid firewall and I can't find alternatives for Vista as Comodo firewall is not vista compatible and NOD32 runs in limited mode even as an adminstrator.

Any suggestions for alternative software?

I thought I WAS THE ONLY one who had that. As soon as I uninstalled it I was fine.
I got rid of it and that is that. never had another internet connection problem again.

wow Zone Alarm I hate that program so much so i feel your pain, you should try AVG best free anti virus i ever had. But to answer your question when i had zone alarm i had to turn the filter from Normal Security to minimum Security. Because it wouldn't even let me check my bank account without disconnecting my connection. Hope this helps, But in my opinion just ditch zone alarm and go with AVG.

First of all Zone Alarm is not a proper anti virus. It is a firewall. So try to ignore using ZA. You may try Symantec as a reliable anti virus.

this is actual... zone alarm blocks internet connections, regulate it via going to the settings, seek for the settings that limit your connections. once you launch it the relationship would be as standard, the convenience is that the pop-united statesand undesirable web content wont be bothering you. whilst youre making a connection in basic terms click the pop-up from alarm zone asserting in case you prefer to allowed this application to hook up with internet, click sure and evrytime your making connection that website would be allowed or that application. desire it helped.
