Is it safe to open unknown e-mails as long as you don’t open the attachments? If I open it just to see what it say, am I at risk or is it just when you open the attachment?

If the email isn't from someone you know, aren't expecting, or has a weird subject just throw it out. Particularly if it has an attachment. Its usually relatively safe to view the email if its yahoo, hotmail, etc. a webbased email, but if you use Outlook or another client it can be dangerous to even open it.

Usually, no. Unknown emails are dangerous. Sometimes it's spam, which you can just delete. Sometimes, it's scammers saying things like "You won £1,000,000 from the U.K lottery!". Even though it's a lot of money, they're actually going to take the money away from you. So if there's an unknown email in your in-box, I recommend you should open it first & if it's really unknown, then delete it. Also, if there's an attachment in it, DO NOT OPEN IT! It can be very harmful to your computer. I had people scamming me & I didn't dare open up their attachments. That's the best I can tell you. I hope this helps.

Hi there. I get them all the time and just Delete them as soon as they come in. I don't like them either and reported some of them in to yahoo. They always come in the bulk mail and I put a block on them also so they can not send any more to me. If I wanted any thing from off the internet, I would buy it,but I like to look at thing's I want, not what they want me to look at or buy,ya. Just delete them to be sure ok. Take care. Sharon. P.S. people get your e-mail address from forwarding thing's, so watch out for that alright.

Just to use safe practice principles, I find it in your best Interest to DELETE any e-mail that you don't recognise the sender (PERIOD)
If you don't know who it's from chances are it is not only not wanted , it's also Spam.
