ok, so i keep getting pop-ups about my computer being infected or something like that. So i ran a full system can with McAfee and there seems to be nothing detected and its saying its fine. Yet i still get pop ups and a different background. the background looks to be an advertisment saying i'm at risk and i need to click here...blah blah blah. So i don't know what to do... One of the pop ups says something like "Trojen.W32.Looksky detected on your machine." then says to click yes to remove but it just takes me to a website and i'd have to download and pay for the spyware program. So please help me

The password to one of my online accounts is saved on my computer and is automatically entered after I type in my username.

This is fine for now I suppose, but I don't actually know what my password is.

Is there anyway to convert these stars into the actual letters/numbers?

I think hax0rz have gotten into my computer, perhaps root, and i need a really good anti-virus. Free one, I'm too cheap to get one off the market. The planted something.

Any suggestions? I might just download all of them that are posted, so I can ask another question in 15 minutes about how I have file problems, more spyware, etc..

*rolls eyes*

Like if you leave the coffee shop and forget to sign out, can someone else use that open IP address? I've been getting these huge bills lately and I don't think I've been using that much time.

In a specific folder on my computer I'm guessing there's a virus in it, whenever I try to open it... the error message that asks you if you want to send an error message or not. Anyway I think that file got there when I was trying to download a Metallica song, but I've tryed McAffe's Virus Consol, but when it starts to read that folder the error message still shows up!! I've tried going into Safe Mode as the Admin but that won't even work! As a last resort I tried System Restore, but not even that worked! Right now I'm out of ideas so I thought maybe some of the smart and kind people on YAHOO! ANSWERS might be abe to help me..... so any ideas??

I have this compaq with Windows 98 SE installed. I recently bought a network adapter but it doesn't support Windows 98. I'm not going to use the computer for internet use, just for music and store some document files. Is there a way that I can access WIndows Update and download the WIndows 98SE updates to a cd room to install them on my computer? Or is there another website I can go to? Thanks

I've recently been the recipient of threatening and harrassing emails, now both my yahoo acounts were hacked. Emails were read, and sent to harrass others making it look like it was me that did it. I know who is behind this, and I know their IP address. I also know the person hacking into my account is doing it from the Technical School they attend (because this is the only place she has access to a computer, and she is taking computer courses). With the IP address, can it specify the exact location, even computer, that she is accessing my email from? If I were to take the IP address with copies of my threatening emails to her school, could they narrow it down to her computer and therefore prove she has hacked my account?

My friend was looking at porn on my computer when I wasn't there and he went to the bad sites. Please don't judge me and say it was me. It was my friend. It happened to me before which is why I stopped going to those sites. If any of you guys can help me, please do. I know that when he went to the site he downloaded something but I can't find it. When I go to control panel and add/remove programs it shows up but it won't let me remove it.

Its in my toolbar down the bottom of my screen. It keeps saying system alert trojan spy. Everytime I click on it, it brings me on to dr.antispy.com and http://awebsecurity.com/ when I click out of it it is still there and when I so on to internet explorer it is the first thing that comes up instead of my homepage.

Anyone got any ideas of what it is or how to get rid of it?

Two days ago i went into a website which turned out to be riddled with viruses and is affecting the performance of my computer. Among the viruses are "trojans" and something about privacy. I spent all day using spyware which detected over 109 infected files and my computer still has viruses! I know this because the computer is still slow and there is an annoying red warning sign is the corner of the screen. Finally do I use quarantine or delete viruses?
