I think hax0rz have gotten into my computer, perhaps root, and i need a really good anti-virus. Free one, I'm too cheap to get one off the market. The planted something.

Any suggestions? I might just download all of them that are posted, so I can ask another question in 15 minutes about how I have file problems, more spyware, etc..

Ok. I couldn't take it any longer, Im surprised I went on as long as I did.

I was being sarcastic. I don't need any of those links or softwares. My computers fine and secure. I was just being a smart-as.s

Notice the "*rolls eyes* Dolts." Comment? Apparently my, "im going to run them all and ask another question" didn't make it a bit more obvious that I'm really damn secure as it is. And I've deleted Norton. I think I only have Windows Defender on this Vista machine.

Best answer would have been "You're an idiot." Or any other smartelic comment back to mine. Tough luck suckers.

It's amazing the stuff people pull out of the air with the little information given. Like ol boy saying it's browser redirect, BOH, or some crap? I didn't read the answer, I lost interest when I saw he went too far with it. Dear lord. Take a chill pill people.

Oh.....and visit my great website.

I'll host it myself soon when I get this room finished up and the server, network finished. I'm thinking I'm going to love running FreeBSD as a server.

Thank you so much. I enjoyed your sarcasm. I get tired of all the people that ask the same repetitive question, even though it has been posted hundreds of times and could be answered with a google search.

You made my day!

Edit: All you idiots giving him links to windows AV are ... well .. idiots. Windows does not operate with root users, but rather Power Users and Administrators (the latter being higher). While root can be used in reference to the structure of a file system, and any person that knew the definition of root would not be stupid enough to ask such question.

So in conclusion: Either he is running Linux/*nix, in which you are idiots, or he is asking a question he already knows the answer to, in which you are idiots. Stop ctrl-c and ctrl-v-ing your answers.

Here is an excellent free antivirus program from AOL, Active Virus Shield powered by Kaspersky Lab of Russia. Rated # 1 in the world for virus detection. You will get auto updates every hour on the hour, plus an excellent background scanner that really works great. AOL, will only ask you for your email so they can send you a free key good for one year. After one year just request a new key.

You know this is amazing.
Many Internet Service Providers furnish Free Internet Security Suites for there subscribers.
Otherwise, remember you get exactly what you pay for.
If you truely have a virus then you will probably need to purchase one of the services from McAfee, or Symantec(Norton) to get rid of it.
If all else fails there are literally a ton of Antivirus Softwares available. I suggest you pose it as a question to your favorite search Engine. Free Virus Removal

It isn't a virus.

If it keeps redirecting you to its website then it might be a BHO (Browser Help Object). Download HijackThis and run a scan. Look for Hax0rz in the bHO section and put a check mark next to it and click Fix Checked Items.

XP:

most nasties are set to reside in your restore system. clean them out and forget to close S.R. BEFORE you start clean up and they return when you reboot.

do this while OFFLINE!
start--all programs--accessories--system tools--system restore--settings--drive [ c ]--setting
check off and while there,click--hold--drag slider to 5% and recover 10% hard drive memory

control panel--internet options--general
delete:
cookies--history [ and set days to keep to 0 ]--delete temp internet files

privacy tab:
advanced--override--allow session,allow 1st party--BLOCK 3rd party [ spyware/tracking ] cookies

Recycle Bin
click on recycle bin and empty it

Disk Clean:
all programs--accessories--system tools--disk clean [ and later disk defrag ]
choose os [ c ] to clean,wait,click ok [ twice ]

now go back and do disk defrag [ select analyze--run or ok ]

Prefetch Folder
my computer--local disk drive [ c ]--windows--prefetch
select view--select all--press delete key on keyboard

now--IF you have any protective programs [ anti-virus--anti-spyware ] installed,NOW is the time to run those.

once you are clean, return to system restore and turn it back on [ reverse above instructions ].

choose to create a new restore point, name it and you're done!

Vista:

vista is a bit different, yet almost the same.
getting to internet options is the same,so look at the instructions for what to do with XP above

disable system restore:
right click computer on start page list--select properties--select system protection--uncheck os [ c ]
REMEMBER TO RESET SYSTEM RESTORE AFTER YOU ARE DONE WITH VIRUS CLEAN UP AND CREATE NEW RESTORE POINT !

disk clean & defrag
control panel--performance,information & tools--click disk clean up
select drive [ c ]--ok--ok--click delete files

disk defrag is on the same page along with disk clean except it's called advanced tools
see XP instructions on what to do--when

again,just like XP,run your anti-virus--anti-spyware cleaners

you can get what you need for protection programs from here
